If the outs are mapped to two controllers when you press a button on one it lights up on the other as well. Is that what you're talking about?

I'm eager to know WHEN you will be proved right/wrong.....

Actually I see nothing in the video that couldn't be done now.

Either way they won't open the remix decks up (if they do at all) for maschine MK1 anyway. Its not NIs modus operandi.

I'm happy to be proved wrong though.

I would like to know if I got the new Z2 and new Maschine could i run traktor 2.6 along with my remix decks without a control medium to cue all my tracks? I believe I might just be best to keep my S4 in this use. Though, my S4 is starting to have connectivity issues due to the volume faders are worn out due to use and travel.

Nobody mentioned the sick video editing yet. I love the eye candy in these videos too. Cool little floating icons and camera work. It's great great stuff.

After watching it a third time I'm more interested in how he got Flux Mode to work with DVS!

DJ Sara is the best female scratch DJ I've ever seen and she's still just a kid! I've been scratching for about as long as she's been alive and she'd whoop my ass in a scratch battle. lol. Hopefully she keeps going and continues to improve, because if that happens she'll be incredible by the time she's 18. Her brother is no slouch on the cut either. I wonder if their dad is a well known DJ.

So good...so young!

I saw a vid of her playing at some club....she was 12 or 13.

Also saw a practice scratch vid of hers and she rips it up....and at the end...gives a real nervous little girl laugh.
It really showed that she is just a kid...that has been doing this a LONG TIME!

Wonder if she will still love it after her teens.... You know how girls are....

It may be based around a shit remix of an even shitter Kanye West tune, but hip-hop it ain't. Trap may be the thing that all the kiddies are jumping on at the moment, even though it's been around for years, but the way he's manipulating it in that video isn't hip-hop at all. The bit that starts at 1:49 is flipping it more into D&B territory, for example. Either way, it sounds like the sort of shit that the "here's my 15 minute 'mix' of 3 songs filled with overused effects and knob twiddling" Traktor demographic would eat up and therefore it's perfect as a product demo video.

i mean yeah, its impressive and ill probably never reach his skill in scratching and controllerism but isnt the music what actually counts when being a dj/live performer? i mean im all for turntable/controller routines as long as they sound good, but this somehow just doesnt... wouldn't listen to it if it was on my ipod...
however, still mad skills and big respect.
There is no way that you can do what Shiftee just did and have it sound like it was produced.
Its just not gonna happen....its LIVE.

However, this is what Beardyman is trying to do with his Beardytron 5000.
Whatever you toss into it, it magically makes it sound good on the output.

This is the same technique Mad Zach uses in Ableton, for his jam sessions.
You can jam....but still sound good doing it.

Now Shiftee 'could' REALLY go and get all technical like the above mentioned.... and route through Abelton etc.
But that is not what Shiftee is about. He is showing off the abilities of the Z2 and the NI suite I guess.

He is a scratch DJ first and then controllerist. He is not gonna be doing what he did in the video, to a crowd that is wanting to dance. I cant see Shiftee keeping that pace up for an hour solid.

Its a routine....not a Live version of a track...not a cover....just a routine.

However, I will say....that the music produced by Shiftee...is not in my taste range.
Its a bit too ecclectic and hiphop-ish for me.

But I still LOVE his style and will watch everything he puts out on the net....for sure.

You people need to chill out. Someone doesn't like the way it sounds, who cares!! And just because someone can't do something similar doesn't mean they don't have a right to be critical about it. If it wasn't for armchair critics the internet would have died in 1995.

Low latency, lots going on, remix decks, effects running on multiple decks, timecode and all that. It's a showcase. I've seen shiftee and other scratch DJs doing sets of an hour or longer and of course they don't just button mash and beat juggle for an hour. They play songs and use those techniques for transitions. It wouldn't work for deep house but it's not supposed to!

I spoke to NI reps (and shiftee) at BPM and they said they "would love to" implement remix deck control on the maschine. That's not a guarantee, but it's nice to know it's on their radar.

I believe Maschine control of Remix decks is a logical (and very savvy business wise) progression. The F1 is launched. Done and Dusted. The majority of those that existed in the market (pre to it existing) will have bought one already. Obviously it will still sell, but now only as more folk with an interest in DJing come onto the scene. Also with several software hacks around already for remix deck control AND NIs original promise of within time opening it up to other hardware this just makes sense, considering Maschine is also their hardware. This will have the double benefit of not only encouraging a few more onto the Traktor platform (or maintaining their patronage) in the face of Seratos new release and the accompanying hardware (pad) support, the pioneer SSX, et al, but it will also be a shot in the arm to Maschine MkII sales, encouraging new buyers to get a Maschine "hey kids! Not only does it do all the cool stuff it did before BUT NOW also controls REMIX DECKS! WOOHOO!", and on top of that if they limit remix deck control to the MKIIs and hold it back from the MKIs, others with a MKI may well upgrade to a MKII. Bearing all this in mind NI would be bat shit f***ing crazy NOT to incorporate Remix Deck control into the Maschine. Just my 2 cents.

I'm very interested in this possible maschine remix deck control.
I'm not normally one for being this blunt but I actually agree with you here. It's one thing to give your opinion on this style of performance or genre of music. I'm firmly in the 'HATE this' category. Actually if I was in a club and someone started doing this it would make me want to repeatedly puch myself in the ears!! However, if you want to question someone's skills (and let's admit this dudes got skills) then you better bring something to the table that shows you are qualified enough to question!

I don't know if its 'hip hop' that was alot of styles haha....one could contest 8bit lol.

I tend to agree with alot of the ppl here...it was alot of sounds, shiftee probably get bored with simple routines and wants to push himself just like all of us....the only problem is that there only so much frequency to put sounds so sometimes it gets cluttered. I prefer this routine by shiftee but its not nearly as complex. He probably feels that he has to use alot of features since NI is paying him, all those features just result in more sounds.

I've been into battle routines since DJ Cheese won the DMC in 1986. I listened to that on the Robbie Vincent show actually in 1986 and have followed the DMC, NMS, ITF, IDA etc. ever since. I've been running a community aimed at battle/scratch DJs for getting on for 8 years. And I don't like this cos I'm "old" according to spencer4hire? GTFO of here. It's just an opinion, but at least it's an informed one. No disrespect to Shiftee as a DJ, cos he's great and miles better than I will ever be, but this particular routine - I ain't feeling it one bit.
lol that shiftee video was not dubstep, it was hip hop..
