Looking into Trillian. If you have any others please post. I currently use sylenth, logic instruments, maschine.

Thanks.

The "How to Make a Noise: FM Synthesis" book really, really helped me get started with understanding FM. Not that you have to spend money on learning it, just I feel like 3 bucks is worth it for the amount of time googling around it saved me.

Use the presets, I agree that FM synthesis programming is not for the beginners. If you have Logic, EFM is pretty good, too. And EFM's user interface is me believes the best FM programming model out there just now.

Thanks for the suggestions, using EFM in Logic now and Sub Bass Boom. FM8 was a little much for me.

Does FM8 not float your boat? Xone is exactly right that you are looking for FM synthesis.

You are looking for FM synthesis.

I picked up a secondhand FM8 license for like $70 on KVR community s for that same reason, it gets the job done for that type of thing.

Even just taking various subbass presets and going into advanced mode and switching through the table of like 100+ routing combinations yields tons of interesting results.
