1.3 update useful with Deckadance?

This may be a stupid question, but will the firmware upgrade be of any benefit when using the VCI-100 with DJ software other than Traktor? I'm primarily using Deckadance and the thought of being able to send additional midi from the VCI controls is appealing.

Without having much experience with Traktor, I assume it's the special tks file that allows your custom firmware upgrade to send additional MIDI messages to the software.
Thats right, you should give Traktor a go, its better than Deckadance as far as midi control goes in general. That said i would be more than happy to switch to Deckdance the day it gives equal or more midi control than Traktor.

I will have to give Traktor a go. I have a VCI-100 which came with Traktor LE. But since I already had Deckadance I was reluctant to pony up for the full-blown version of Traktor. I know Image-Line's working hard on the next release of Deckadance, which sounds like it will include expanded midi control. It certainly couldn't hurt to learn both programs. The more midi control, the better.

Sure, all these messages could be incredibly powerfull for other software. You just have to figure out how to assign them in creative ways. The software should also allow you to specifically define which midi notes you want to assign. If it only supports midi learn then you will have problems programing.
