MIDI CH2 with Firmware 1.3
Posted on: 22.03.2009 by Manuela Pearcy
Hi Everyone

Does anybody know if it is it possible to switch from MIDI Channel 1 (ch1) to MIDI Channel 2 (ch2) with firmware 1.3 as you can with 1.2?

Thank you in advance

I reverted my VCI to 1.2 (once I got a hold of the old firmware file), and set it to send on CH2.

Used a friend's VCI on 1.3 at the same time to have a pretty cool 4 deck control setup. The trick was just cloning the .tsi to double all the commands except just on CH2, then removing the Deck C and Juggle modifiers on all the CH1 mappings.

It worked without a hitch and we had did a double DJ gig in front of a few hundred people!

My advice for anyone trying to do this though: wait for 1.4...it'll be much less of a headache.

Yes- 1.2 supports 2 VCi-100's and I sort of forgot to ask for that in 1.3

it will be added in the final, everything you could ever want firmware version 1.4

The 1.2 mode in 1.3 still does not have 2nd vci on 2nd channel support.

Nope for some reason they took that feature out.

I have never had any luck splitting channels for two 1.3 vci's though Bomes

I read 1.2 was partially made for using 2 VCI's together for 4 deck madness.. 1 VCI would be midi 1, next midi2. 1.3 would be the same?

Not from straight of the box, you need a software to map the other vci-100 to a different channel.

For example MIDIOX will do the trick. Requires a bit of knowledge about MIDI though but luckily not much.

I haven't personally tried it but it should work.

does this mean one cannot use 2 vci's with 1.3, like in 1.2?

Hey Stuart,

This is not possible with 1.3 but will be fixed in 1.4 which will be released fairly soon.
