VCI-100, 1.3, Trakor 1.01, Problem with buttons/knobs dying out

So, last evening I was djing a party and everything crapped out on me except for the effects, the crossfader, and the jog wheels. It was really weird, but basically I was stuck with no eq's, filter, and all the play/pause/drop/sync buttons stopped working. It was really lame, I had to use the mouse for like everything. Anybody know what this bug is caused by and how to fix it.

Im using a VCI-100, upgraded to 1.3 with Traktor Pro 1.01.

Updating to Traktor 1.1, I had to wait for somebody to crack it since I pirated Traktor (i know thats so lame of me, and that I should support NI because this program is AWESOME, I just didn't have 200 bucks laying around. I'm in college all my money goes to food and beer!). I believe a power surge might have something to do with it because I had a strobe light connected to the same outlet. Hopefully updating to 1.1 will do the trick! I can use the new mapping now too, siick. Is the new mapping tight fellas?

if it take a crap on you while ur playing, turn off the unit and power it back up. I has happened to me in the past and I strongly believe that there was a spike in the electricty. BTW when you play live make sure you take your own power supply.

+1 w/LastOne, update T-Pro
