Firmware upgrade adapter kit question. Posted on: 22.06.2009 by Lilliana Perris Used the search but no joy. I took my VCI to the place i bought it as they had the adapter. Tried updating the firmware but kept getting the boot error. My question is....they got their adapter from Vestax for the 1.2 update. Will that adapter work for the DJ Techtools firmware update? Or do i need to get the DJTechtools adapter? Will order it if that is the case. Thanks. | |

| 23.06.2009 | yeah- you need USB power too! For the record our kit does the same thing as the vestax version which was sent to authorized service centers. We just made it small, and in-expensive to sell! |

(I read just about every thread ) Ifigured out what the problem was. We did not have the VCI plugged into the PC via the USB cable AS WELL as the update kit and cable. DUH! Will make a mission back to the fella's i bought it from and give it another go. Will report back! |

| Lilliana Perris 22.06.2009 | The Vestax adapter is i little black box. We opened it up to see if it was the same as the pics posted.....and it did took a bit different. |
| Lilliana Perris 22.06.2009 | Well...the adapter looks differant to the pics posted. We used the adapter direct to the pc serial port....with the USB connector. No joy. Tried all the COMs....'reseated the connections.... |
| Doug Bieling 22.06.2009 | don't believe it makes any difference .. the adaptor is just a way of accessing the unit to upload the firmware doesnt matter which firmware it is. I'm not 100% but i'm sure someone will be along soon to confirm. What cables are you using for the update ? I remember there were loads of probs with usb cables. I used a serial both sides and it worked first time. |
