probably because it means they have to re beatgrid their collections and make new mapping files - that can be a bit of a buzz killer for alot of people

ugh, this killed me to hear. i've been using 3.3 for 3 years now and thought i would be able to transfer my collection to tpro when i finally got the cash together to upgrade. is there no work around to transfer collections between 3.3 and subsequent versions?

They changed the function of Cue/Play so it was practically useless. On first press it would jump back to the cue point and pause, and on release it would play. The only way to do it right was with "Jump to Active Cue" (which is what I use) but people wanted an instant "Cue/Play".

My biggest issue with changing from T3 to TPro was the missing Native Recorder

I still miss it like an alcoholic misses his 7am Budd.

not sure what you guys mean, do you mean the play button without the cue function attached?

In my opinion Traktor 1.1.2 has been more than reliable - I've never experienced a crash and it has been worked my good people

Will have my first gig with 1.2 this saturday and hopefully no crashes *touching some more wood*.

Tried TPro 1.1.2 with Snow Leopard as well, but went straight back to 10.5.8. Don't know how 1.2 acts in SL though?

Joke: The best version of Traktor is Serato Itch

Serious: I have been testing out Traktor Pro 1.2 and so far it hasn't crashed on me *touch wood* - if you reeaaaally need assured stability though i personally found that 1.1.2 has been the most stable version of Traktor i have used so far, i have tested the absolute hell out of it and it runs really well in my experience. Thats not to say that Traktor 1.2 isnt as stable, its just that i haven't tested it as much as 1.1.2. these versions are certainly more stable than any version of Traktor 3 i have used.

True. Make a backup of your T3.3 collection and then you can use a copy to upgrade to PRO. Pro will give you a warning that the collection will be irrevocably changed.

Chikago, the problem isn't going up, it's going back down. The collection in Traktor Pro can't be read in T3.3, but it can in T3.4. But you can load the collection FROM T3.3 to TPro. Just back it up and everything so if you need to go back you don't lose it.

still using 3.4.x, but might go over to pro soon. (as that the new version might have the ability to map pitch bending to my rotaries)

I used 3.4 up until a few months ago and never really had any serious problems that I couldn't figure out and fix.

Well I do use 3.4 now. I've only played one gig with it, as apposed to 1-2 times a week for a year with 3.3. Just paranoid, your confidence makes me feel better. Actually JesC told me to update a while ago.

Yeah man totally understand. I was on 3.3 for a long time.

Im still using 3.4.1 at some gigs and its rock solid.
Collection loading definitely got a tad slower with 3.4.1 but as i say the collection format is different.
T3.4.1 is a rocker mate. I have used it 4 evening s a week since it came out (1 year maybe)
only one crash and that was cus i accidently selected a whole 9hour set and tried to load it into Deck A (i was pissed) and it stumbled a bit then crashed so i put that down to user error.

If you do update to 3.4 make a full backup of 3.3 (i know you dont need to hear that, old habits die hard) and give it a full days testing.

I believe you will soon be as reliant on 3.4 as you are with 3.3

Whats the issues with T3.4 by the way?
It seems like it loads slower. Also I had a few latency issues. I fixed them, they have came up again just yet. Other than that I guess its the same. It just makes me paranoid to play a gig when I don't know if the software is going to crash. T3.3 never crashed once on me.

There are 2 layouts, 1 is for Traktor Pro (or Traktor Scratch Pro) and the other is for Traktor 3.

Most people are using Traktor Pro at the moment - not sure how many people have moved to 1.2 yet though
