Random problems after mod
Random problems after mod Posted on: 23.09.2009 by Nadene Sandwisch So I just modified my VCI-100 silver edition with the crappy original firmware using the Arcade DIY Mod kit. I didn't upgrade the firmware. The buttons work great and everything is beautiful. But I have a couple of weird almost mapping issues that I can't make sense of or correct right now. First, my toggle button for Effect 3 doesn't work. Instead, it activates the monitor cue for deck A. When I tried to go into my midi mapping to fix this, my computer seemed to be registering the monitor cue button and the effect 3 button as the same thing! Its messing up for both FX banks, BUT, it works fine in the loop setting for my D deck loop on button. HELP! And even more upsetting, my jog wheels will not scratch for decks A & B. When scratch mode is off, they work fine as jog/search controls. And strange but true - scratch works perfectly in the bottom decks (C & D) when toggled on. I can't figure this out in the midi map. What sucks is that I can't use the jog wheel in FX mode now either. Touching it doesn't turn the effect on, though I can use it to change the dry/wet values. it's weird and i don't like it. Neither of these issues occurred before I made modifications, but these things weren't involved at all in the mod, so I don't know what's up. I'm worried that I totally messed something up and that these are just the first controls to go. plz help me... | |

28.09.2009 | no - the problem is that you dont have the firmware version 1.3 you just have 1.2 which does not have the FX features you are talking about there. |
Lilliana Perris 28.09.2009 | Sounds like you have gone and midi learnt new buttons etc, over the TSI mappings in use. Meaning that there could be a few modifiers and other settings left on that specific pre programmed function. I would say, first remove the pre programmed settings for the desired effect and then midi learn the new function. |
Nadene Sandwisch 24.09.2009 | okay i reloaded the tsi file and still had problems. I was able to go in and correct most of the midi mapping issues using the learn function. Is it possible that i accidentally changed the button 'notes' assigned to certain features? Weird. But a new problem has occurred. When I correct the mapping so that scratch is a toggle function with the right button (that was my problem by the way. it was hold on the wrong button), a bunch of my other functions start messing up. My Cue/Play is less responsive, I basically have to hit it twice and then it sounds like I'm scratching into it if that makes sense. My Cue/Pause just stops playback and also is less responsive. Beat juggling is obviously impossible in this case. So for now, I'm just leaving scratch assigned as hold buttons, which means I can't scratch but at least I can actually USE my vestax. Also, we obviously messed up some wiring in the volume fader, because now it moves on its own. So when I throw up the volume to fast, it jumps back down. It sounds really crappy and unprofessional and I have a gig tomorrow. This is why you don't do last minute mods. Any other suggestions? |
Xavier Emanuels 24.09.2009 | Might need to reload the TSI file, could have possibly fiddled with something by accident that is messing things up |
Nadene Sandwisch 23.09.2009 | okay, so i stopped being a dick and actually searched the community
s thoroughly and saw that my firmware prevents me from using the final button which you guys actually call the 4th fx button, not the 3rd. but i still need help with this jog wheel issue. |
