arcade buttons sensitivity
Posted on: 04.01.2010 by Ayanna Ghali
Hi to every dj ranking ers
for my first post i'd rather than speak about music but i've a problem with the arcade buttons sensitivity
compairing to the impressive ean's videos demos my buttons are way less reactive
could it comes from
1 bad soldering of the buttons?
2 standard usb cable that's not capable of transmit the midi cc fast enough?
3 Why bother anyway imitate ean, there's only one
... ?
any suggestion and advice would be useful
thanks for the support

I could imagine that the latency of your soundcard/driver is set high.

What is the latency set to in traktor (My system isn't up at the moment but I believe it is under options sound device or something similar)?
Yeah that is most likely it. It is under audio setup. The default setting is around 30ms I believe, which is way too high.

Silly question but is "Quantize" on? This will limit the reaction to the set beat.

that's what i thought may be it's too low that's why the cc are not properly transmited?
btw my setup : macbook core 2 duo with 4go of ram (but i don't believe that the problem lies there)
may be also the arcade buttons are not well in contact with the holes of the top of the vci ? but when i press one without any rush they respond always well that wouldn't be the case if there was poor contact no ?

4ms is low ... my audio 8 will go no lower than 5.5ms and my arcade buttons are super reactive
