Replacing overlay on SE
Posted on: 06.03.2010 by Edris Acevedo
Just looked at the tutorial for replacing the overlays. This looks as though its for a standard VCI. Do the SE versions bought through Tech Tools have the metal plates on still? With the SE's, do we take the old overlay off first or just apply the new one over the top?

thanks for your help

You can take the old one off if you want, but putting one on top of the other works pretty well. If you do decide to take the old overlay off, make sure to get all the adhesive off the metal plate, or the new overlay you put on top won't look as nice.

Is that the best way to do it? I'm not convinced the finish will be as nice with it placed over the top of the existing one.

you can put the new overlay on top of the one on SE with no problems.. and as far as I'm aware the silver plates have already been taken off the SE's in order to put the overlay it comes with on
