VCI 100 wont "boot"
Posted on: 24.02.2010 by Daniel Meinholz
Hey guys.

I have my VCI-100 here and wanted to use it with traktor but it wont "boot".

I connected the USB-cable and turned it on. The POWER-LED turn on but nothing happens.

Windows is giving me the message that the VCI-100 isn't identified.

If i start the VCI-100 before I log in at my computer the VCI-100 "boots" up right but is unuseable.

Any Ideas?

^^ no he's having the same issue I had. There's literally no way of concievably fixing it without wiping the computer. Believe me, I tried

Hi, does drivers show up in device manger?
If so, remove, re-start computer 'n' try again

Yea, but it's most likely the only way. You've got some drivers blocking your VCi's drivers, and trying to find them is like a needle in a haystack... maybe worse lol.

Just back up all your stuff and take the plunge!

I had this same issue with Windows 7. I pulled my hair out for a month, then finally did a factory reinstall (back to square 1). Then the FIRST thing I did after the reinstall, was plug in my VCi-100 and my other midi controllers, and they all loaded right up and became recognized/usable.

Hope this helps!

The USB-power shouldnt be a problem, because it runned cooretly on the same Computer in the past.

It alos work fine with my laptop and a attached Audio8dj at the same time.

Well, turns out that I didn't have to go to walmart or radio shack...for shits and giggles we grabbed the USB cable Vestax supplied and the unit lit up like it was fekkin' Christmas all over again.

Turns out that the DJTT USB cable is faulty, in my instance, and maybe a good indication as to what may be at fault for you, Lukaskeil.

Good Luck.

I am experiencing the same issue, except it will not initialize an any of my 6 PC/Laptops, the first thing that comes to my mind is that the USB ports aren't supplying enough power. USB ports are only required to supply 5vdc at 500mA. That is 4vdc less that the vci-100 requires.

I'm going to get a 9v power adapter +--o)--- in the morning and see if that is the cause (well, maybe right now, if walmart has them).

Daniel Meinholz

I checked it with all USB ports.

OS is Windows XP service Pack 3 32-bit.

Yes, USB is turned on in BIOS.
My keyboard and mouse is running via USB

OK, so you have tried the front and back ports?

No I don't have a HUB.

I plugged it in all USB port of my computer, but everywhere the same problem!

First the computer installs my VCI but don't identifies it.

are you plugging it into a hub or directly into the PC? if directly, is it in the front connectors, rear connector expansion, or rear main usb ports?
Daniel Meinholz

No.
I already checked that

I only have a logitech keyboard + mouse + driver but they worked correctly with the VCI-100 in the past.

Update:

I believe there is no Problem with my VCI-100.
I pluged it to my laptop and it worked fine, but as mentioned, when I
plug it to my computer only the POWER-LED lights on and my computer don't
identifies the VCI-100.

Any ideas maybe?
