VCI filter knob under 1.3 firmware?
VCI filter knob under 1.3 firmware? Posted on: 22.04.2010 by Randal Biza I'm just wondering why the 1.3 firmware turns the filter knob into a double knob, where middle to far right is 0-127 and middle to far left is 0-127. Before upgrading, I assumed moving the knob to the far left or right would turn off the filter, because the overlay says "cut". But obviously that is not a feature and not possible I believe without Bomes. I feel like there is some added functionality to this filter knob that I'm missing. | |

Randal Biza 23.04.2010 | I'm sorry. I thought the center detente on the VCI filter knob (the point where it kind of clicks when it's at 12 o-clock) sent its own midi signal, and that signal was assigned to turn the filter off. I guess not in FW 1.2? |
Corine Kasman 23.04.2010 | The cut on the filter is in centre. Just look at the on screen filter knob, the little "on" button turns off when the knob is in the middle. At either end, the filter is on full whack. Phil. |
Doug Bieling 23.04.2010 | Sorry!! I misread you said 'why' i thought you said 'if' It does it so that you can have a highpass and low pass on one knob withit turning off in the middle. If it wasnt like this then you would get, like you say, the filter turning off at far right or left which means you would have an extreme high or low pass with just a slight move of the knob. The way it works in the 1.3 tsi makes it better to use for its functionality. Does it really say cut on the filter? I thought ity was just the low eq that said cut? Maybe wrong though. |

Doug Bieling 22.04.2010 | Yes it does. I asked this question only the other day. |
