Please help me with my firebox issue Posted on: 14.05.2010 by Bunny Schuyler Hello...And I'm very new..like 5 mins ago, so if this is the wrong direction please point me in it. And if there is already a post to resolve this issue, I would most graciously ask that you point me to it. my problem: I get no sound from my mic plugged into my presouns fire box, the 48v button will not stay lit, I press it get some sounds that quickly fade. I use Cubase. I'm on an XP Don't really use it for much but recording. Check connection rebooted, several times. thanks, AJ  | |

Corine Kasman 14.05.2010 | Hi AJ, welcome to the community
s. I'm not an expert on mics, but I'll try and help. First, your mic has to be a condenser mic to require phantom power (48V). Make sure that the specifications of your mic clearly state that it needs phantom power. In Cubase (which I have never used), in options there must be a way to tell the program what channel the mic will be coming in on. Make sure that this is set. Once you assign the mic to a track, make sure Monitoring is turned on (I have no idea how, you will have to look it up in the manual), otherwise you will only get audio from the mic to the program when you are recording. These are basics that apply to just about all DAWs. Let us know if this helps (and if it doesn't we at least know what does not work!) Phil. |
