What causes the VCI-100 to go into boot mode?
What causes the VCI-100 to go into boot mode? Posted on: 21.08.2010 by Kasi Kiriakos Is there a specific pin that needs to go high or one that's grounded?I'm believeing of permanently installing my fw kit inside my vci with a serial out on the back plate. But i want to be able to switch it off and on. Failing this, i'll just make a harness to extend the fw pins to the back plate. | |

| Kasi Kiriakos 11.10.2010 | ]cool nice one, I will have a fiddle when i next open it up and see what i can do. I may just opt for a 6pole dipswitch rather than messing around. Seeing as its only going to be used for firmware upgrades. |
| Adolf Hit 21.08.2010 | Chris has got it right there, The two jumpered connections need to be in place to put it in boot mode. What you need to do is figure out which pins are the true GND and true VCC Notice the large electrolytic cap next to the header - this will be connected to both GND and VCC. Use the continuity function on your multimeter (the beeper) to figure out which pin is which. Once you have done this then the true gnd and true vcc can be permanently wired and the other two connections should be switched to gnd and vcc respectivley using a single pole double throw slide switch. |
