Herschel Slusarski 18.12.2010 | how do you know if the vci is in boot mode? |
Herschel Slusarski 18.12.2010 | do you have any other recommendations/suggestions? |
Herschel Slusarski 18.12.2010 | yes i've tried the Advancedsetup.exe. i haven't tried to uninstall and install the software yet. i'll give that a try and see what happens. |
Leeanna Ayla 18.12.2010 | Did you follow the steps to change the Advancedsetup.exe? Sometimes the computer has to be rebooted after and some have even had to uninstall and reinstall the software as it appears the software may believe it's still trying to update the firmware in some case. |
Herschel Slusarski 18.12.2010 | thanks for your reply. i've tried propping it, and have also tried it on its side. i'm sure it's in boot mode if boot mode means no lights on. i've used serial to serial and usb to serial. tried 3 different PCs. still no success. i still get the boot error. |
Leeanna Ayla 18.12.2010 | I haven't watched the video recently, but if I remember correctly if you have the VCI turned on, but there are no lights on it's in boot mode. Lost of problems come from a jog being activated or a button being pressed and not letting you go into boot mode when it would appear your are in boot mode. I put my VCI on rolls of tape to lift it up so no controls would get activated accidently. Others have held it up on it's side so nothing would get touched. try one of those if you're having problems getting the upgrade to complete. |
