V4 Mapping and Max/MSP 6

(Bad title, sorry. I meant FW 1.4)

Hey techies,

I recently bought a vci-100 off ebay and the upgrade kit and i'm loving the unit now. However I was really hoping to use it's enhanced jog wheel sensitivity for use in Max with my monome for live visuals and lighting control.

The problem I'm running into is the last CC the jog wheel sends is either a 63 or 65, never 64. I was counting on having a solid number to stop whatever track / automation was playing fully, which renders them pretty much unusable. For example I've gotten so far as getting a working scratch set up in MLR (the monome sample cutter) but when the jog wheel stops the speed should got to 0.0, but instead hitting 0.02 or -0.02 making whale songs or going back to speed at 0.98 or 1.02 putting it out of tune. Also that throws off the scratch like the ramp up of the 1.1 fw.

can someone tell me the finer points of the "ramp up" issue? I feel like if I can understand that I can understand how traktor deals with it and thereby make a workaround in max.

Thanks y'all
