Custom Midifighter Problem

Whenever I try mapping my knobs and faders, some of them are sharing the same assignment numbers.

Each knob and fader offers 4 mapping points. There's 0, 1-50, 51-99, and 100. But when I set a knob in the 51-99 range it will glitch between two assignments. For instance my top left knob assignments are as follows. 0 = Ch03.Note.G#7 1-50= Ch03.CC.018 51-99= glitches between Ch03.CC.019 and "Ch03.CC.019 + Ch03.CC.018" 100= Ch03.Note.A7

So here's where things get even weirder. My far left knob and fader share the assignment number Ch03.CC.018. So if I set an effect value to that assignment, both will control the same thing. My two knobs also share Ch03.CC.019. And my two faders share Ch03.CC.017. I can't figure out a way around this issue. I've tried re-flashing the firmware. Everything is up to date. Is this a coding defect? Any help would be much appreciated.

That fixed it! Thank you so much. I was using firmware 20110204. Looks like the latest firmware is 20110511. But the link on this sticky still has the old firmware. http://www.djranking s.com/community /showthread.php?t=30007 I found 20110511 elsewhere. This is great. Thanks again!

That is the result of an old Firmware, one where i screwed up the CC assignments on the analog expansion pins.

Getting the latest firmware should fix this so that the CCs are ordered 16+17, 18+19, 20+21, 22+23.

Congratulations, you're the first to notice!

Thanks for the reply flashflooder!

I have had this problem since I got the midifighter in late March. I use Traktor 2. This was still a problem when I was on the previous version of Traktor.

Midi notes/cc are as follows

Top Left Knob
Ch.3 Notes G#7/A7 CC's 18/19

Top Right Knob
CH.3 Notes A#7/B7 CC's 19/20

Bottom Left Fader
Ch.3 Notes F#7/G7 CC's 17/18

Bottom Right Fader
Ch.3 Notes E7/F7 CC's 16/17

Thanks.

Hi backspackle, I'm not sure if you're issue is hardware, firmware, or mapping related yet, but I believe we can figure it out together.

We also don't currently have any Custom Midi Fighters in the office, so I am going to bring in mine to test your MIDI issues on tomorrow.

In the meantime, can you list the MIDI notes/cc associated with each of your analog controls? For example, for the top left knob you listed Ch.3 Notes G#7/A7 & CC's 18/19.

Also, is this a new problem you are experiencing or have you always had this?

Lastly, please let me know if you are using DJ software other than Traktor.
