crossfader Hamster in Traktor Scratch Pro

first off i'd like to thank Ean and everybody who make this site possible.

does anybody know if it possible to modify the internal crossfader in Traktor Scratch Pro to hamster?, preferably with a single key stroke or midi map button.

also does anyone know if you can set an external turntable to one of the decks say deck c for example but still use my vci 100 for all the controls. i'd like to use the jog wheels for fader fx and pitch bend, but i'd like to use a turntable(stanton str8 150, digital turntable) to do some cuts and scratches every now and again in my mixes, but use my vci 100 for everything else. I use the audio 8 dj soundcard so there is plenty of inputs and outputs to do this.

i'd try to do this on my own, but 'm pretty baked and would probably eff up all my settings.

The downside of this is that when you toggle the modifier, then move the crossfader, it will jump from one side to the other, you could get around this by setting the 2 crossfader maps to soft takeover mode.

What you won't be able to get around is the fact that when you're using the crossfader in hamster mode (the inverted map), the on-screen crossfader will be at the opposite end to your hardware crossfader, just something to be aware of.

Fus
To get around this problem with the crossfader, you could map it out so that instead of AC-BD being left and right on the crossfader, you could invert it with a simple press of a button, so it would be BD-AC. Then you would have instant invert without having to worry about soft takeover and having the onscreen fader being opposite of what it really is.

This would require a modifier, but I believe it would achieve better results. I'm not sitting in front of Traktor right now otherwise I would give an example mapping.

That's a good question. Have you tried to duplicate your crossfader message and invert it, then put that duplicated message on a modifier? I'm not sure how that would work as far as having the modifier message be toggled...

This is the only computer I don't have Traktor installed on, but I'll look at it tomorrow.

ya thats what i meant by hamster,nem0nic. is it possible to map out a hot key to switch it back and forth between hamster and regular? or do i have to manually click them each time i want to switch?

I believe that's what he meant. We were debating his definition of hamster. but like I said...

Wouldn't you just assign the right side of the crossfader to A and C, and the left side to B and D? Like this...

The Hamster scratch? "Stabs"? In other words, you mean...reverse the fader.
