rotray knob as modifier switch
Posted on: 07.07.2009 by Elene Lazzara
Hello erverybody,
i am looking for a way to turn a rotry knob into a switch for a modifier. So if i turn the knob to the left side the modifier value should be "0" an in the right half it should be "1".
Does anyone know a solution for this problem? I've tried so much

p.s. sorry for my bad english, i'm not native.

greetings Matze

I use something like this for the audio recorder function...

set interaction mode to direct, and type of controller to "relative fader/knob". Adjust the rotary sensitivity to taste, I keep mine at 6%, it's not a perfect 50/50 but it's close enough and iirc was about as good as I could get it.

Try it like this...if it's possible. Not in front of traktor atm.

2) Turn up another knob from 50-100% only
to use the 2nd half of a knob to turn on another knob up then you want to use relative mode set in this manner:

same configuration, but for the control use the modifier you want for the 1 state, and don't map anything to the modifier in zero state. Another user also claimed that 70% was the magic setting, but it might take fiddling.

that's my problem. i would like to have it half and half, so that for the zero value the knob has not be comletely left.

if you are familiar with the midi tab in Traktor, all you have to do is map the rotary knob to the modifier you want. At completely left, the modifier will be off, and any degree right of that will be on. It should be the same as mapping a button to act as a modifier.
