left sync button on vci 100 se
left sync button on vci 100 se Posted on: 22.01.2010 by Tonja Flaster hello there,i am using a vci 100 with firmware 1.3. i updated the vci by myself with the update hardware provided at this site here. seems that there is a problem with the left sync button. i mapped the sync buttons in traktor to the sync function, but i have to press the left button twice to activate sync, and twice again to deactivate it. on the right site a single keypress is enough. any ideas how to fix this and why this happens? regards, christian | |

Wendy Heckenkamp 18.02.2010 | the workarround from cgarling works (at least for some functions), i just had to move some functions to another button. my keylock is now routed to the "sync-button". leftside with hold to make in toggle. thanx for all your help. i also found a workarround for the filter button to work as in firmware 1.2 (NO BOME) . i assigend it to FXBANK4 with FLT92 (traktor pro 1.2.4). mapping bellow Knob postitions: left: activate fx4 for B, and turn on fxbank4 + cc-adjust lowpass right: activate fx4 for B, and turn on fxbank4 + cc-adjust highpass middle: deactivate fx4 for B, and kill FXbank4 |
Wendy Heckenkamp 16.02.2010 | the problem with mapping this button in traktor is this: when i want it to work it as play/pause i have to set it to hold, to work as toggle. so there is one workarround for that. but, when i want map it for example to cue/play, it has to work as a hold/trigger function. it works the first time i hit the button, but then the button has to be like reactivated (one extra tap), so its mapped function works again. right now, my right "sync-button" works like this __ Modifier | Modifier #4 | Note B4 (ch1) | Global | Direct | M4=1 | 0 Cue Loops | Loop Active | Note B4 (ch1) | Deck B | Direct | M4=1 | Off Cue Loops | Select Hotcue | Note B4 (ch1) | Deck B | Output | - | - Cue Loops | Select Hotcue | Note B4 (ch1) | Deck B | Hold | HotCue | 1 __ i haven't found a workaround to make this happen for deck A with the left sync-button |
Reece Murray 16.02.2010 | In this thread, people are trying to do different things with this button, so the fix will be different for each project. The button sends enough messages to do whatever you want with it via Bomes, or even Traktor, using the "invert" option - of course it depends what you're trying to do. I don't agree with Bento that it can't be done. The left sync button sends three messages on each press. The one that you want to use for most purposes is A#4, since it sends a note on and a note off message. The other messages don't toggle. What makes it confusing is that the default led behaviour for that button is determined by FW1.3. It turns on and off even when TPro is not running. You've got to take in to account this behaviour when programming, so your led is giving the correct feedback. So to use the example of setting up a sync on/off for deck A, in Traktor you add a command of Sync - A#4, set to "hold". No output command needed. |
Wendy Heckenkamp 13.02.2010 | do you know how bome can fix the syncbutton? in this thread http://www.djranking s.com/community /showthread.php?t=5433 bentosan says he <u>cant</u> make it work |
Reece Murray 12.02.2010 | Bomes can fix it. But depending on what you are trying to do, you may be able to do some tricky command programming in TPro to get around it. I use the left button to change control of the left of the VCI from A to C and back. It works like a straight toggle, no double presses. I'm not sure but I believe I did something with Increment Decrement command types...? I'd have to look at my file to be sure. |
Wendy Heckenkamp 12.02.2010 | doesnt work with the mapping i aim for. i want to hit either one of the syncbutton jump to cuepoint1, deactivate loop if active (+modifier) for the linked deck. works fine for the right one. the problem with your solution is, that "select hot cue" is hold or output only function. this sucks, 1.3 fixes one button and kills another :\ |
Tonja Flaster 12.02.2010 | Use the left one with "hold" and the right one with "toggle", then both work the same way. Regards, Christian |
Wendy Heckenkamp 12.02.2010 | i do have problems with the left "sync" button, too. before upgrading to FW1.3 i used it to kill some modifiers and jump to cuepoint1. same problem: i need to hit it twice.it seems to me, that this key only allows "toggle-function". the trigger-ones dont work correctly. anyone knows a solution or work-aound ? EDIT: i read something about bomes midi editor. could it be possible to fix this "bug" with this ? |
