4 Deck use w/ Novation Remote SL 25
4 Deck use w/ Novation Remote SL 25 Posted on: 18.12.2009 by Love Kocurek I finally got my new mixer... DN-X500...I love this mixer especially for the price... So i just got my 4 deck mapping done... It needs a little bit more work on a few things, but works well for now! I would like to somehow get some sort of scratching capabilities using the xy touch pad if someone can explain the best way to set that up... UPDATED the hotcues! | |

When I tried mapping this, I was getting some really weird behavior for the drum pads. When I went into the Novation editing software, I figured that if I changed the drumpads to send out midi notes as opposed to drum notes, the odd behavior would stop. I never went to town on this, as I ended up using the controller more with Traktor's internal mixer, in conjunction with a Nocturn. Due to the fact I've been working a lot, I treated myself to Kontrol X1... and, that's kind of worked out well for me mixing externally. I've been using timecode and two decks for the major events I've played over the last four months... so the four deck external mapping with the Novation just kept getting put off. - Jones |

Elton Rackley 07.04.2010 | i've been using the remote zero SL for about two months now and the mappings not perfect but works well for me. I still have some room left. i use a UC33 for my 4 channel mixing and the zero for looping, FX and transport controls. i use FX1 advanced and FX2 chained. i've included a jpeg of the mapping. it's nice to see other remote zero users here. cheers d |
Haydee Meharry 01.04.2010 | I just wanted to say THANKS to DJ Yanaki for making the template available. There aren't many Novation Remote SL + Traktor Pro MIDI maps available (especially, for the latest version of Traktor), and yours is one of the most concise ones I've seen. It works well for the most part so thank you! I will try to customize it some more and post my version when I can. Others should also contribute if they can. Thanks! |

Love Kocurek 21.12.2009 | thanks for the response though.. i would love to see how you have yours setup! |
Love Kocurek 21.12.2009 | well... apparently from what the rest of the guys on here said... since there are 25 keys on mine... if i remove the keys and scrub off the crap covering the connections and soder to the buttons them it will work.. as far as the two rotary knobs i believe i will need more than the two connection available but since i have 16 arcade buttons and two regulars buttons i believe i can make this work... and as far as the mapping it should work the same on the buttons but im a little confused how it will read the roatry functions??? |
Gracia Giacoletto 21.12.2009 | Hey Man, Thanks for posting! I just remapped my novation remote zero sl for 4 decks, with an external mixer, so it was interesting seeing how someone else went about doing it. My mapping is still a work in progress, but I'll resurrect this thread when it's a bit more polished. Interesting add-on component you're believeing of building. Will this be a separate unit you'll plug in with a usb? I'm programming some modifiers to use the 8 drum pads as hot cue buttons for each of the 4 decks, but building a dedicated unit looks like a cool solution too... - Jones |
Love Kocurek 20.12.2009 | This is also a pic of what the future of my remote sl will look like... Just waiting on some more funds to start! |
