Using modifiers to their full potential - FX Adaptable Control Strip
Posted on: 10.04.2010 by Reid Vallet
Has anyone else really experimented with the full potential of the modifiers in TPro? I believe Im just beginning to discover how to work em, but I was hoping to get some criticism/feedback/tips about this.

Heres what Im doing:

Press keys 1-4 on the keyboard to hold-on fx controls (on/off, fx1-3 on/off, dry/wet etc). Simple enough, but what if you want to hold-OFF a button, and leave it ON by default? Just hold in 1,2,3,or 4, then press SPACE to 'lock' the button in its' current state... from now on, it will hold-OFF, release-ON...

I used all 8 modifiers for this, and it seems like there could be a simpler way to do this.

Bear in mind, my keyboard ONLY has 4 keys plus space available for FX controls (Im controlling all 4 decks w/ loops, cues, gridding for each with only my keyboard and a UC33), so I cant spare a second row of keys for toggling on and off...

Here's the TSI: FX Adaptable Control Strip.tsi

So, am I doing this the best possible way? Anyone else playing around with modifiers to do things differently in Traktor?

Let me know!
