Sweeping effect mapped to button / jog wheel
Posted on: 15.05.2010 by Marcene Erkenbrack
Hey,

Doing a little change to Ean's mapping. Im mapping armyofme's effect to the both left arcade buttons, and using the jog wheel to control dry/wet and effect amount as mention in the heading. Need just a little help though

1) What is the modifier so that the effects aren't turned on when in juggle mode?

2) How do i make it so the jog wheel correctly controls each of the effect amounts? I mapped them to the jog wheel the same way i did the dry/wet, though the first and last seem to be 'stuck' in the middle. For some reason the middle effect amount of FX bank 1 is also affected by the jog wheel when i press the button..

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YEvMV-a4tH4

The jog wheel is spun slowly the first time, then quickly the second time to emphasise what is happening to the effect amount values..

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Cheers
fusion.

EDIT - The assignment for the second effect amount was not set to FX bank 3 when i had created the video, which is what was causing the second effect of FX bank 1 to be affected by the jog wheel, instead of the second effect of FX bank 3...
The problem of the values always being 'stuck' still remains however

Thanks for your reply

I ended up changing my mind, because if i changed FX bank 3 from slicer, i'd lose the sampler function of the mapping (not that i overly use it anyways, but you never know)

The buttons are now mapped so that:
Button 1 = slicer, controlled with jog wheels
Button 2 = sweeping effect, controlled with jog wheels
Button 3 = instant 1 beat echo (never used cue play)
Button 4 = play

My god, it kicks ass!! One little thing left to do, then ill post it up..

I want to add a shift function to the gain knob, so that it also controls key. I believe i read someone had done this but after a few searches, nothing popped up :/
So far i have been able to make it so the key is only affected when the shift button is held down, however it doesnt disable the gain from being controlled meaning when i hold shift down it controls both of the virtual knobs..
How would i fix this?

Thanks heaps!

cheers,
fusion.
