New to mapping, axiom 25--->tpro
New to mapping, axiom 25--->tpro Posted on: 24.12.2009 by Herlinda Burross I'm going to map my a25 to act as my controller for traktor pro, modeling my mapping slightly after the DJTT oxygen 8 mapping. I have had only a few hours now to try to get my head around the m-audio enigma, but one thing I've understood, I need help. Could someone point to me to threads/websites/anywhere where I can find information on midi mapping this (or similiar) to tpro, or could someone post here or pm me basic stuff about midi mapping this thing. I don't want a ready made mapping, because I want to learn how to do this. | |

Vicenta Southall 15.07.2010 | I've been searching the internet for hours for this mapping. You believe you could post the .tsi file or pm it to me jaques? |
Ula Benninger 26.05.2010 | hey jaques, if you find the tsi file, can you pm me it? |
Herlinda Burross 16.05.2010 | So I got the mapping to work after some fiddling with the m-audio mapping program and traktor pro. I haven't had any time to actually try it out more than for 15 minutes or so because of my military service sucks balls and all my leaves I have to use to prepare myself for university entrance exams. Maybe when I get outta the army I'll have time to finish this thing. My tips are these: Set the midi signal sent by the knobs and buttons and others to be the same as for oxygen 8 (you'll find the presets for o8 in the m-audio program itself). Then just load the o8 tsi and you'll be able to rock your axiom 25. As for the pads, just assign some midi notes to them that haven't been assigned to anything else and map cue points to those midi notes. I'll post my .tsi if I can find it from somewhere in the depths of my comp now. Forgot the friggin filename |
Dorthey Ilsley 14.05.2010 | Hey nokelly I got as far as mapping the trigger pads to the hotcues. I've been teaching myself modifiers from different sites. Which I just have to continue mapping and not forget. But I cant get the Modulation or Pitch bend wheels to be assigned to anything. How did you get them to work? For example, assigning them to the Dry/Wet Amount for a chained FX. BLKSKY |
Alica Eitner 10.05.2010 | I ended up just using the mapping from the oxy8 for the keys and mapping the knobs manually myself since they didnt quite match up. Also I believe your problem with the keys for deck A being switch might be to do with your transpose buttons. I found that if I accidently hit the transpose button I would end up with my deck A controls on deck B and my deck B controls no where to be found. Just make sure your transpose is set to 0. I mapped the beatpads to cue points. For the knobs I kept the echo and the sampler. For the echo freeze you will need to map one of the soft keys below the knows to the echo freeze parameter. I changed the filters to one full filter and one low control for each deck. Good luck getting yours mapped its definitely worth the time investment. Let me what you come up with! |
Dorthey Ilsley 10.05.2010 | Hey guys did anyone ever get a good mapping for the axiom 25? I used the oxy mapping but some controls work some don't. And then some are reversed(right side of keys work on deck A). Anyhow, did anyone get a file from Jaques? Getting frustrated not knowing how to use MIDI. aaaaaaah! |
Alica Eitner 28.03.2010 | I would also like to try your mapping.. Thanks! |
Rochel Tellefsen 12.03.2010 | I would also like to try out your mapping. The oxygen 8 map looked like a lot of fun! |
Denisse Osterbrock 07.03.2010 | Thanks for this thread, i'm also figuring out to use my axiom 25 with Traktor as Ean does with the Oxy... Is there any chance you upload your mapping file for Axiom 25 Jacques LeNoir ? Thanks again |
Shameka Zareski 02.03.2010 | BUMP.. Actually, a video-upload would be so nice for everyone I got some of it working, I can assign the EQ with no difficulties... but when it comes to effects & stuff it all stucks up for me As mentioned before I wan't to use my Axiom 25 for controlling effects etc. in Traktor since I got an DJ controller allready... So I was wondering if any of you knew of ane mappings for Axiom 25 to be used in that matter |

Herlinda Burross 30.12.2009 | well transferring ean's mapping to the axiom 25 was surprisingly easy and so was mapping cue points to the pads. Now the next step is to play with this a lot so I can figure out if I want to change something |
Irwin Ney 28.12.2009 | please report and if you have any questions i will be happy to help you I'm not a master but I've passed by all these steps to get where I'm now... |
Herlinda Burross 28.12.2009 | Well I'll take the oxygen 8 mapping and tsi and try to work from there, trying to figure out what ean's been doing. Maybe I'll report my results |
Irwin Ney 25.12.2009 | My technical read is the Traktor Bible, it helps you understand how the Messages sent by your controller become a function in traktor. Basically the steps to understand the Oxygen or Axiom midi message process are: You turn a knob on Oxygen The Oxygen read the preset Code of your knob on the (.XML) Enigma's Map that is stored inside Oxygen's memory, the current position, the direction you twisted (increase or decrease) The Oxygen translates all this information to MIDI using the MIDI Protocol (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MIDI_1.0) The Oxygen send the MIDI message to your Computer through the USB Cable Your PC understand that it's a MIDI message send by your Oxygen and uses the Oxygen Driver installed to read the message (I believe that's like that) Your PC send the message to Traktor The Traktor reads the message and translate it to Actions on the software based on your TSI Map. You should do something like this attached picture bellow to help you understand the codes: |
Herlinda Burross 25.12.2009 | Most of the articles I find there aren't really that specific, they're more on the general level. I'll specify my problems: How do I know which midi signals the different keys in the piano keyboard are sending so I can map specific actions to them? and How do I know what midi note/message my rotary encoders are sending? So anyone with expirience with M-Audio's enigma program please help |
Latoria Kavulich 24.12.2009 | Hi Jaques, there are some great articles on midi mapping in the blog section, very helpful. |
