help w midi mapping x1

So I have had the kontrol x1 for a couple of weeks now and am really loving it. I have mainly been using it in HID mode coupled with my vestax spin.

However I now want to make use of the extra MIDI mode pages. As my Vestax uses channel 1 and 2 midi CC I figured Id change the channels to 3 and 4 respectively in the control editor for the x1. So the top rotary is Channel 3 cc 0 for example. However whenever I map the rotarys to do A + B eq high, mid, low. Whenever I rotate one pot, some of the others move on the other channel. ie the mid and gain start moving for channel b relative to how much I move A.

I thought it was a conflict in midi notes as in I had 2 the same but they are all numbered correctly ie; Channel 3 cc 0-100 and channel 4 cc 0-100 on the shift page.

Any help as to what Im doing wrong as IM finding fairly frustrating?
