problems mapping numark total control with traktor Posted on: 29.08.2010 by Maybelle Mongiardo Hi everyone I am having some problems mapping my numark total control to traktor! My DJ setup is as follows... numark total control and dj/io (sound card) attached to my computer (ps I know it sucks but i had to start somewhere) 1st When I had virtual dj i could control how long the loop was by pressing two buttons right above the loop in and out! I can not seem to find this control with traktor ( there were 4 buttons total and they either shortened or made the loop longer) I would like to set this up with traktor! 2nd problem ( i want to be able to play 4 things at once . when I switch to 4D Int. Mixer it changes the settings around so i have no crossfader! i want a crossfadder to control the two top decks and the bottom two decks I only want my two jog wheels to control the bottom. for play and pause on the bottom I wanted it to be mapped out to the keyboard) basically I obviously dont want a crossfadder on the bottom I just want to be able to play random sounds using the bottom decks Can anyone tell me how to do this or give me advice! Thanks so much any info will be greatly apritiated | |

Maybelle Mongiardo 30.08.2010 | Hey I am really excited about this tsi file but it will not work. I first deleted all the previous settings then i Imported the tsi file and set the in and out ports to all ports and then hit close! nothing works on the NTC Is there anything I am doing wrong ? |
Maybelle Mongiardo 30.08.2010 | Thanks everyone awesome advice! I had no idea anyone else but me really used the TC. I was under the assumption that it was kindof a joke around dj's |
Vernice Balthis 29.08.2010 | Thanks for the referral bartboy. A couple of notes to DJZ... 1 - Your setup doesn't suck, it's budget. I played gigs for months with just the TC and a Creative Sound Blaster sound card. (see my youtube video) The only comments I got at gigs were "whoa, that's such a sick setup" or "dude! how much did all that cost you? It must have been like at least 1 or 2k right?" No lie. Our art is all about how well we can rock a crowd - NOT how much the tools we use cost. Be proud of your Total Control! It's a trusty little controller that packs a tremendous punch when used to its full potential. I've been using mine for over a year and am still believeing up awesome new ways to put its features to use. 2 - I forget how the TC was mapped in VDJ, but with Traktor I like to have my TC LOOP IN and LOOP OUT buttons do a few things. To start a loop, pressing LOOP IN marks the beginning of the loop and pressing LOOP OUT marks the end of the loop. While a loop is running, LOOP IN cuts the length in half, and SHIFT+LOOP OUT doubles the length. See my video for a demo of how this works. I'm not clear on what exactly you wanted to do, but this is how I work with loops on my TC. (shift functionality can be achieved with modifiers. use the search box for more info.) 3 - Fixing the crossfader visibility on 4D internal is easy. Preferences > Layout Manager> highlight 4D Internal in the list>Check the box for crossfader. Now look at the little 2x2 box on each side of the crossfader labeled A, B, C, D. Select which decks the crossfader should play when it is on the side (white letters means they are selected) I hope this helps you with your mapping! -Stormeagle |
Dana Ordinario 29.08.2010 | I will suggest searching this community for DJStormeagle's Numark TC mapping. He has also posted a very detailed video on all the functions explaining everything. If anything it's a great place to start. He is also a very active member of this board and is always willing to help people out with there TC mapping. |
