MIXXX open source dj software

I currently use Traktor Scratch pro with my vci-100, but i recently found out about mixxx and am interested in the benefits of open source software. I was wondering if anyone here uses this software, and if so, do you have a midi mapping for the vci-100? or know where i could get one? I've tried searching the community s and used the google machine, but have had no luck.

anyone? plzzzz

Here you have my template to use the Akai LPD8 with Mixxx.

Download it here.

Good luck.

if you are on OSX and had trouble with MIDI, they just came out with a release that addresses issues with MIDI on OSX: http://mixxxblog.blogspot.com/2009/1...-released.html

the first beat for 1.8 (with hotcue/looping support!) is also around the corner!

List of hardware controllers that are known to work with Mixxx. Mixxx comes bundled with MIDI mapping presets for the devices.

Hey not sure whether this URL will help you solve your issue - http://www.vestax.com/v/products/players/vci100_b.html

Please check them. You can also find English manual I guess.

I tried Mixxx over the weekend with my Traktor TC Vinyl and it was horrible!

Could not get it to work.

I then tested the Traktor Scratch Pro demo software and it was fine.

So not sure if it was me.....or.....

i am following their development closely, but i will wait with adopting the software until 1.8 as I need multi midi support as well as m4a support. the benefit of open source software on a shallow level is that its free. on a more interesting level it means you can get direct access to the core developers who are actually very eager to hear about your feature requirements.

also most open source software is in a non monolithic development approach. in my experience that enables them to develop more features with less resources in less time, because they can adopt other open source quickly and replace them if better alternatives come around. also its much easier to test all these separate integrate libraries which helps stability where monolithic software tends to fall apart slowly as new features get added.
