Lightly Modified S4 Map
Posted on: 15.11.2010 by Larissa Rienstra
Hello,
After a little messing around I was able to make a few mods to the default S4 map. This is a small set of modifications to make mixing easier, see below. Like Ean's tutorial for the VCI, I made the faders into effects controls. The tempo faders require that the effects are always on as well as the bank assignments. I am not totally happy with that but thats the way Traktor S4 wants it.

Changes:
shift+browse --> Tree Select up/dn
shift+browse_press --> Tree Open Close

Deck A:
offset_up --> ~ +1 BPM
offset_dn --> ~ -1 BPM
offset_up + offset_dn --> reset tempo + lights up

tempo_fader --> FX3 dry/wet - E1 Amt - E2 Amt - E3 Amt

Deck B:
offset_up --> ~ +1 BPM
offset_dn --> ~ -1 BPM
offset_up + offset_dn --> reset tempo + lights up

tempo_fader --> FX4 dry/wet - E1 Amt - E2 Amt - E3 Amt

Enjoy,
Joe

A necro on this one, but this might be handy for the records:
The browse of trees is done under browse- mode in the embedded/original S4 mapping.

1. Go into browse- mode by clicking the browse button.
2. Use the left loop rotary to scroll through the folder-tree.
3. Click left loop rotary to open folder.

the browse of the tree makes tons of sense. Wonder why they left this out?

Going to browse mode to scroll the the tree is just and extra step.
Thanks
