Basic X1 + TSP2 + Maschine for sample deck control Posted on: 03.04.2011 by Violeta Hubbart OK.So I use TS Pro2, with the X1 for cue / search / effects etc. (default mapping). I was super pissed off to find NI didn't have ANY sample deck mapping ready to go with TP2. Talk about lame! Now @ Version 1.1, I've added re-trigger mode and a second knob page for mutes and individual sample slot volumes. http://www.mediafire.com/?4pkc6dlr742h56w << DL ZIP, contains NCM and TSI. The NCM file will need to be loaded in via Controller Manager before using the TSI. 1. Open Controller Editor 2. Add the NCM to a spare slot in the template section 3. Open Traktor Pro2 4. Preferences, Import button on bottom right. Should only be controller settings. So, I'm not responsible if this blows up your computer. -forsue P.S I believe I posted this over @ NI community s but I can't see it. There were lots of people over there looking for something like this I believe. Excuse the cross-post. | |
Deloras Hirchert 06.04.2011 | I agree, but can almost def tell you why it doesnt bother them. goto germany sometime and tell me they aren't 20 years ahead of their time in technology but style wise still very much in the 90's in most anything they do, which is good in some cases. Not for people like us who eat MIDI for breakfast, lunch, and dinner though. If I had my say the midi editor would open in a new window thats resizable and always on top and you'd be able to use the up and down arrows and other keyboard shortcuts with the option to import and export in xml as the standard format, then we could copy paste and trade pieces of mapping functionality. i feel this will be the last thing they fix as a majority of the users dont know how to make a mapping, let alone spell midi. and im speaking in regards to the general public at large, the ppl on this community tend to share a fancy for controllerism more than most. until then theres the option of trying to decode the tsi, i always pay for traktor but i did notice while searching google for info regarding midi mapping sample decks and midi output for sample decks that its already been cracked. if these ppl can crack the program surely the tsi's are within our capability. still dreaming.

If I could toggle SMALL/ADVANCED only that'd be pretty sweet. I've only got a 1280x800 screen so I need all the vertical resolution I can get!!! |

I'm using an S4, and just can't ever seem to get by with only 4 cue points, so I gave up my sample decks for 8 cues and have been wanting to make this exact mapping but haven't had time. So, downloaded, loaded NCM as directed, as well as the TSI file in Traktor Pro 2. All seemed to work correctly. And it doesn't work. The mapping is selected on my Maschine and when Controller Editor is open it seems to be recognizing the MIDI from the Maschine, but nothing happens in Traktor when I use the Maschine. Config is Macbook Pro Unibody (Spring 2009) w/ Snow Leopard, Traktor Pro 2, no other MIDI devices / applications connected or running. |
Roselee Delbalso 11.04.2011 | Did NI also include a .ncm? because I can't get default .tsi maschine mapping to work on TP2, what do I do to fix this? (downloading and trying your custom one now!) |
Deloras Hirchert 06.04.2011 | I also preferred the yellow text for deck headings, the contrast was better, they made the new waveforms so colorful nothing else stands out, the text's reduced contrast kinda slows me down for some reason. and the new option to not save the beatgrid as a hotcue has caused problems when i get rid of the hotcue and simply replace it with a load marker, things were going out of sync randomly. not consistantly though, just sometimes in some tracks. *shrug |

Corliss Michalke 03.04.2011 | It's actually a hid map, it's a major pain in the ass. |

Leeanna Ayla 03.04.2011 | The pdf to the sample deck mapping is osted above. It doesn't have filter control, but it wouldn't be very hard to add it. |
Alexandra Nerby 03.04.2011 | With full control of effects units as well? Can one change and control effects without having to touch your laptop? Looking to replace my current controller with the X1... |
Leeanna Ayla 03.04.2011 | What he said. |
Violeta Hubbart 03.04.2011 | T2Pro has a standard X1 mapping and an X1 mapping for Sample Decks included. |
Alexandra Nerby 03.04.2011 | Sorry to hijack, but I want to know 100% if the T2 and the X1 come with the mapping. I want to buy the X1 but not if I have to map it to use the sample decks or effects.... |

I use TSP2 as DVS, so I manually beatmatch and what-not. I use the X1 for all the cue point / track search stuff and don't really like shifting between the HID and MIDI layers. Also, I have a few mates that spin on this setup and it just gets really confusing. I have a Maschine so it seemed obvious to throw it in the mix for the sample decks. NI do not provide any template for using the Maschine soley as a Sample Deck Controller. This mapping is my first effort into something specifically for Maschine as a Sample Deck *only* controller. |
