4 FX Units to 2 FX Units and Vice Versa
4 FX Units to 2 FX Units and Vice Versa Posted on: 16.05.2011 by Dana Ordinario I am trying to map out a way to change from a 4 deck layout with 4 FX units to a 2 Deck layout with 2FX units. Is there a way. I can get the decks to change but not the amount of FX Units. | |
Dana Ordinario 16.05.2011 | I am trying to map out a way to change from a 4 deck layout with 4 FX units to a 2 Deck layout with 2FX units. Is there a way. I can get the decks to change but not the amount of FX Units. |
Dana Ordinario 23.05.2011 | I understand how to make layouts and what I am telling you is that the number of FX units is not included in what get's switched. |
Antonetta Wikel 22.05.2011 | Under prefs/layout manager. Make a 4 deck setup with 4 FX and a separate 2 deck setup with 2 FX. Then you just switch between them using the layout tab at the top right of the screen next to the search tab. I've got 2 deck internal mix, 4 deck internal mix, 2 deck external mix, 4 deck external mix & 2 deck beatgridding(where there's an adapted keyboard tsi for quick keys for beat gridding). I can switch between them quickly. |
Dana Ordinario 22.05.2011 | I tried making 2 layouts and everything changes exactly how I want it except the amount of FX units. No matter what I do I always have whatever I set last manually in preferences. First layout 4 FX units --> 2nd Layout 4FX units. So while on the second layout I changed the number from 4 to 2. Then I switched back to first layout and now also had 2 FX units. I'm going to assume it can't be done which is a shame but ohh well it's not that big of a deal just would have made it easier on me :P |
Leeanna Ayla 17.05.2011 | What padi said. You'll have to create separate layouts that have what you want, then you can cycle between them. |
Nedra Fresneda 17.05.2011 | Not on the fly. You can do a new layout with just 2 decks and jump between that and the 4 deck one, but you are going to be forced to open the pref pane to chance the number of FX units. There is no MIDI command for what you are trying to do and different layouts preserve the number of FX units. |
Dana Ordinario 17.05.2011 | Because It's easier to read what effect is loaded and the knobs and effects. It's simply my personal preference as sometimes i like to keep it simple with 2 Dekcs and only 2 FX units. If it's not possible then I'll just have to rebelieve my mapping that's all. |
Nakisha Startup 17.05.2011 | I'm just curious, is there any practice reason why you would do this? I would believe 4 FX units are always better than 2 if you have them mapped in 4deck mode |
