Mixtrack/Pro menu hot-switching
Posted on: 14.07.2011 by Porter Jacquet
If you've checked out one of my maps, you'll know my menu switching is getting really complex, even for me. So I decided to simplify. I've been trying to figure this out for a while now and finally got it toevening . Should make switching between menus far less complicated.

With all LED's off, M3=0
then as they light up from left to right, M3=1, M3=2, M3=3 & M3=4

Basically, any of the modifiers can be switched to another or off.

It took about 40 entries in the Controller Manager to make this happen, and is gonna take another 40 to make it happen on the other side of the controller too. If any of you fellow Mixtrack/Pro mapping junkies want to use this menu switching as a template for your own map, hit me up. It was not easy to setup.

Yeah, I'm considering moving my hot-cues over to the Korg Nanopad. I'm not sure how I'm gonna make it work though. would be nicer if it had 16 pads.

I'm gonna be sticking with the Mixtrack for a very long time. With it and the power of the Controller Manager, I can make it do just about anything I want.
Word! If it weren't for the build quality I'd say that the mixtrack is a very decent controller capable of pretty much everything. Combined with a second controller I don't believe you'd need anything else...

sounds crazy but...... just call my chicken.
I have remapped the hot cues, but no delete button.

glad to see someone sticking with the mixtrack.
Will be waiting for the TSI file.

Sure, no problem. I'll be posting it as soon as I get it finished with it and the help docs.

One thing to note though, the complexity of getting all the hot-switching to work properly with LED's that follow is through the roof. Kinda odd that making a map that's easy to use on the surface, is complex as all get out to set up in the Controller Manager. lol

I've also added a way to switch Decks C&D between Sample decks and Track decks. But I may have to save that for a more advanced version of this hot-switching map I'm currently working on.

If you've got any questions on setting up your own map, let 'em rip, I'd be glad to help. Pretty much everything I've learned about mapping is through trial and error, and I've tried a lot. lol

I lose a little bit of functionality, 5 menus instead of 7, going to this menu switching model, so we'll see what kind of map comes from this.
would love to see the trainnig wheels mapping you make for your roomate.

it might be just what some of us need to get started with understanding mapping.
could you possible do the basics - hot cues with delete - browser - led mappings?

thanks in advance.

Yeah, I'm hoping to clean up some of the confusion with this new menu switching.

pg. 17 - 19 covers mute and play modes for the sample decks.
