Edit the function of the first 2 transport buttons?
Posted on: 24.11.2011 by Torrie Gillard
Hey all,
I've spent about half an hour trying to find a solution to this so please don't shoot me down if I've missed it...
Basically I use the second 2 transport buttons on each deck on my VCI with Traktor 2 to CUE and the Play/Pause. The first 2 buttons on each deck do nothing unless I switch to juggle mode.
What I'd like to do is set them up as hot cue 1 and hot cue 2 - i.e. perform the same function as they would if I switch to Juggle mode.
Is there an easy way to make this happen in Traktor?
Thanks in advance

i presume when juggle mode is active some modifier is set. have a look for a control named like "select set store hotcue" that is setup for cue point 1 and see what modifiers and values it is using.

there's probably also a control called "delete hotcue" that is tied to the same button on your vci (same midi message) so u need to make sure u don't nuke the modifier that is shared between those two as thats what will make the same button either set/store a cue or delete it.

u could just add any old 'in' command, click "learn" and then sort by the midi name column - as then you should see them all grouped together - just then be sure to delete the temp control u just added.

Sounds fairly logical, thanks for that - I'm glad it wasn't a completely stupidly simple solution though
