Pulling My Hair Out! (Vestax Typhoon + Presonus Firebox) Posted on: 01.12.2011 by Jacki Zena AHH! Ok... ::Hardware/Software:: Macbook Pro Vestax Typhoon Traktor Pro Presonus Firebox (firewire into my Macbook) 2 Samson Studio Monitors (running into the firebox 1L/2R OUT) Dre Beats Headphones I just picked up my first Controller today, the Vestax Typhoon. When I plugged in the controller, and opened Traktor Pro, I was asked to select my output, I selected my Presonus Firebox, because my monitors run through it. Now, I can hear out of my monitors just fine, but I can not hear through my headphones. I have checked volumes, and pressed the headphones button so it is not that, I believe it is a routing issue. I am pretty much trying to main through my Presonus Firebox, and still listen to my headphones through the Vestax Typhoon. Someone Please Help! I have been at it for hours now and I am about to return this darn controller n give up. | |

Chandra Lean 05.12.2011 | actually most programs don't allow you to use two different soundcards. including recording software. |
Santiago Brasier 05.12.2011 | true, I just supposed he wanted to use them both... Good that someone is believeing this through all the way Cheers |
robin loo 05.12.2011 | you dont need to aggregate the devices if you use just the firebox.. i'm pretty sure it's a lot better than the typhoons soundcard.. set it up like this: http://www.djranking s.com/community /showthread.php?t=3349 |
Santiago Brasier 05.12.2011 | Thats exactly why you would need to aggregate them into one virtual device to be able to use them as one. Set traktor up to use the virtual device = one "soundcard" in traktor. In real life that one virtual soundcard consists of two physical soundcards. So it's up to you if you want to solve it with hardware or software... both ways work just fine. |
Ivan Guting 05.12.2011 | Traktor doesn't like multiple soundcards. My friend has a Typhoon and I set his up with RCA to 1/4" TRS. It works just fine. I'm not a fan of that controller, however. |
Santiago Brasier 03.12.2011 | The soundcard itself makes a bigger differens. Not sure which one of yours is better. Don't know their specifics. Anyways, you can use multiple soundcards. But you would need to aggregate them into a single virtual device. Not sure how this is done since I never used it myself. But it can be done and has been done. Search the community s if you want to know more. Hope you work it out and have loads of fun with it! //Joel |
Sarai Suchman 02.12.2011 | it will reduce quality but by such a small margin you will never be able to tell. Unless you are plugging into a massive $100k soundsystem you will never really hear the difference between RCA/quarter inch/XLR |
Jacki Zena 02.12.2011 | Will going out RCA reduce sound quality at all? |
Chandra Lean 01.12.2011 | get RCA->1/4" |
Jacki Zena 01.12.2011 | I would but my monitors cables are to big to fit the vestax. |
Chandra Lean 01.12.2011 | you messed up. you should just use the typhoon for everything, its all in one |
