manual turntable stop / brake

i've been searching on how to do a turntable stop (or brake, don't know the correct name), so i finally decided make my own. focusing on what i don't like of the default Traktor's turntable FX i try to make a manual stop. this is: i decide when and how do the stop.

for make this, i have to say that i am using DN-MC6000. this controller has the ability of detect my finger when touching the jogwheel. so, you will have to adapt this steps in order to fit your controller:

1.- use modifier state to detect when you want the turntable stop effect. i use it on 'hold' behavior. this is, only when pressing some button. on DN-MC6000 i used EFX button. let's say modifier #1, value 1.

2.- add 'Tempo Range' control on the touch sensitive jogwheel (on scratch this is call 'Scratch On'), with 'Button' type controller and 'Hold' as interaction mode on the deck you want the effect, with 'Set Value' to 100%. with 'Modifier Condition' set on 'M1' value '1'.

3.- add 'Tempo Fader' control on the jogwheel (on scratch this is call 'Scratch'), with 'Fader / Knob' type controller and 'Relative' as interaction mode. with 'Modifier Condition' set on 'M1' value '1'. Rotary Sensitivity and Acceleration as you wish (mine are on 5% and 0%).

and that's it! in my opinion the effect is much more "controllable" and even sound more "turntable".

as you can suspect this can be done with any other control of your controller.

hope some else there!
