DJ Java's KORG nanoKONTROL2 MIDI Map - Use it as a Sampler deck controller! Posted on: 10.01.2012 by Marybeth Sardone Hey all, i am super excited to show this to you... especially those of you who stuck with their VCI-100's. Thank's to the inspiration from DJTT and other members of the community, I have mapped-out a KORG nanoKONTROL2 so it will work as a dedicated sampler deck controller in Traktor Pro2.Just to keep things in one place, I put all the information about it on my website: http://dj-java.com/korg-nanokontrol2-mapping/ You can also check out this youtube video I made last evening , with a complete explanation and a demonstration of the mapping in action. Just as a headsup- I am just getting my feet wet with using sampler decks... so don't expect to hear the Mozart of sampling. youtube video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i9H7oejopx0 I'd love to hear feedback from all of you on what could be improved, changed, etc... I've put alot of effort and thought into making this mapping, and I hope to keep it updated. Also... what would you suggest to be the second preset FX group? Let me know and i'll update the mapping! Thanks alot!! DJ Java (Tom) | |

Marybeth Sardone 15.01.2012 | so i have some exciting news... an update to the mapping already so that brings us up to v1.1... here's whats included: version 1.1 change log:
i'll have a video up shortly... and as always you can get the mapping and more info at http://dj-java.com/korg-nanokontrol2-mapping/ suggestions/tips/criticism...whatever... let me know!! |
Marybeth Sardone 13.01.2012 | with that effect, one knob sets the effect to Reverse Grain and as you continue to move the knob, it either increases/decreases the Speed parameter of the Reverse Grain, in effect giving you a "winding up" or "winding down" sound effect... great to use when you want to make a song sound like its slowing down and then throw in a new track. |
Dalene Mir 13.01.2012 | To be honest I don't really understand what that effect does, do you mind explaining it to me? |
Marybeth Sardone 12.01.2012 | hey m0ar, thanks for the reply! I'm glad you and your friend like it! i am digging the sweep/build up as that will come in hand with use on the sample decks... i am believeing of making another knob control a super knob to wind up/down songs aswell (demo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iF-KG...FzIosgC_C-urwZ) as for the final knob... since we already have a beatmasher available in preset 1... hmm! |
Dalene Mir 12.01.2012 | Hi and thanks for the awesome mapping. Me and a friend have been looking for something just like this kontroller, and your mapping is completely awesome. For the second preset I believe that one knob could control a chained group like this , one a beatmasher and the last one something else. Does that sound interesting? |
