Kontrol X1 - D/W knob mapping problem - mfp bmasher conflict? Posted on: 02.03.2012 by Cliff Lohman Hi,I have my kontrol x1 setup with a pretty standard mapping. However, I cannot get the D/W for FXunit4 to work properly. If I move the D/W to 30% using mouse - as soon as I twist the X1 d/w knob, it IMMEDIATELY jumps to 100% and will not move. I confirmed the knob sends signals thru midiOX and the LEARN feature works in traktor mapping so I dont believe its the knob. Theres no conflicts in the x1 mapping. I suspect that my midifighter bmasher mapping may be the culprit (its the only thing that shares control over the FXunit4). But theres nothing obvious I see.. Im believeing its something like a modifier but theres alot in the mapping and i cant quite tell. Its pretty close to the standard bmasher mapping from djtt but slightly modified. Any ideas how to sniff out a conflict like this? Its driving me nuts.. Thnx | |

Kellie Myrum 03.03.2012 | Man it is hard to tell from here but I believe the problem is with modifire on shift button. You need to know which modifire and value is that button using and then list mapping to find that D/W knob with modifire and value same as shift button to start resolution from there. |
Cliff Lohman 03.03.2012 | @stewe - i checked but i cant even set it as a button before or after adding the command.. so ya, its def set as a knob. @deejae- i have about 8 mappings and theres no other issues like this so i believe im using multiple mappings correctly.. its just this one knob.. I should note that this same knob works properly in the normal.right.d/w command but the probblem is with the shift.right.d/w command. Although I do have it setup for group use on the normal knob and single for the shift knob. I have a feeling its something about how the bmasher mapping uses the echo freeze out fx unit 4 but its really hard to rip that mapping apart to find things like that.. |
Ada Matzkin 03.03.2012 | did you follow the proper protocol for using 2 mappings at once? |
Kellie Myrum 03.03.2012 | Is it mapped to fader/knob? If you set it as button and learn it with knob it can behave like that. |
Cliff Lohman 02.03.2012 | two other piece of info - if I uncheck SOFT TAKEOVER (so that the knob is relative), it works just fine. I also tested another knob (mapped the FX1 knob on x1 to D/W efxunit4) and i get the same problem. I cant seem to move the knob at all! All the other d/w knobs work as expected.. Any ideas? |
