Need help mapping LPD 8
Posted on: 28.01.2010 by Mac Fly
I finally got fed up of using other peoples mapping and I'm trying to map my LPD8. I am still an amature and need some help. Do I have to use the LPD8 editor to map it with traktor pro? Using the editor I tried to map the settings on the LPD8 to match the knobs (0 to 127) and matching the channel and CC's but it doesn't seem to be working correctly?

I believe im just uncertain of how to save a TSI under a certain preset and loading it to the editor effectively. I tried to follow the user manual but didnt find it to helpful.

Could you possibly upload your mapping somewhere and share it?

I'll explain it now. Then I will try and upload it soon. I wasnt sure how to save the presets correctly so I will try it when I get off work. This is a good mapping to complimant the VCI 100 SE. I also only have 2 presets because thats all i really need at the moment.

Preset #1
Top row of buttons are Hotcues 1-4 for deck A

Bottom row of buttons are Hotcues 1-4 for deck B

Top four knobs are chained FX for FX unit 3

Bottom 4 knobs are chained FX for FX unit 4
(I keep my FX unit 3 always on for deck A, and FX unit 4 always on for deck B. I find its easier visually.)

Preset #2

Top four knobs are smart knob combo on FX unit 2 I got from armyofme. The Dry/Wet turns on the peak filter, iceverb and reverb when turned and they all follow the direction of the Dry/Wet knob. The other three knobs can be turned independently to turn on and activate the effects by itself with soft takeover funtionality.

The top four buttons are small loop functions. 1st pad is 1 beat loop for deck A. Second pad is 1/2 beat loop for deck A. 3rd pad is 1 beat loop for deck B. 4th pad is 1/2 beat loop for deck B.

Bottom row of knobs are FX 1 in advanced activating the Delay when you turn the DRY/WET knob. The rest of the knobs are associated with the delay respectively.

The bottom four buttons complimant the delay in advanced. Turning it on, filter button, freeze button and rate button.

Right .... for some reason its pgm1 that won't work. I set it to pgm2 before any learn functions and its mapped as expected.

Is that of any help to you ?

Does anyone have any idea why pgm1 wouldnt work out of the box?

Me too!! Haha I'm sure we could figure this out together. When I get home from work I'll give it another try.

Just started doin mine too and fallen at the first hurdle. Don't seem to be able to get it to do anythin. Its recognising it during learn but its not actually then doing what ive progged it to do within traktor. Can see the control light lighting but not doing anything to the efx bank. Trying to map in the functionality from the sweeping build post
