VCI-400 SE Jog Wheel Behavior

I want to get the VCI-400 to mimic the behavior of the VCI-100 Jog Wheel. That is..

If the track is playing, then spinning the jog will speed up or slow down the track.
If the track is paused or stopped, then spinning the jog will seek back or forth through a track

Right now in order to achieve this, I have to toggle the vinyl button. I don't really scratch since I play house so it ends up being an extra step. Anyone know how to get this working? Thanks in advance

Hey

Been playing about with this today with no luck, did anyone solve it?

I want to be able to scratch/search through songs while they are paused and being cued, but then have scratch off when its actually playing as its very easy to accidentally touch the middle of the platter and pause/stop/scratch the song when you don't mean to.

While I do understand you can do this by turning vinyl/scratch mode on while your cueing and then switching it off again, there have been a few times where I've switched it on to sort a cue point or whatever, but forgot to switch it off again and then when the song had been playing I've bumped the middle wither by accident or when pitch bending and ended up messing the mix up.

i thought if you touched the outside of the platter i.e. the clear part you can achieve this
