modifier behavior between controllers

Hi,

Was believeing about setting up a few layers for a jog wheel on one controller and switch layers on my launchpad. But since modifiers are specific to each mapping these days and not global I do not know if such a thing is possible.

I would like to dedicate some buttons on my launchpad to switch functions and tell me which function is active through LED feedback. I have a couple of ideas how it might be doable. But none of them is all good.

So go ahead, let me know what you believe. This might not be a problem at all or it might be hard... we'll see. And I would like to avoid any 3rd party software. I want to do it with traktor only.

Cheers

good believeing! Sounds like it should do the trick provided they dont use the same channel and notes

What devices are you trying to link?

thought of that solution. Would work if I force all devices to work on different midichannels I suppose... But would prefer to make it work differently.

Might end up ditching the LP and build something instead to avoid the problem. =) We'll see!!

Thanks for your reply stewe!

I guess you are using two generic devices for each controller?

Open your generic device (other than lounchpad) and add /in/ and /out/ commands for as many modifiers as you need and simply assign it to your lounchpad.

Set MIDI in and out to all ports and test it. If your controllers are sharing some of the same MIDI notes you will see them conflict and only in that case it would be impossible.
