DB4 midi buttons - traktor efx mapping for slicer masher bouncer ttfx (xtreme mapping Posted on: 09.04.2012 by Cliff Lohman So i put together a virtual mac machine using vmware and purchased xtreme mapping app so decided to get a little crazy with mapping stuff that i have with midi capabilities that i wasnt using.Spent a bunch of time figuring out the adv oarameters that sounded best to me for these fx. Basically, i took all the midi shift buttons on db4 and mapped traktor buffer based fx like slicer, bmasher, abouncer and ttfx and mapped various single/advanced combos to each of the buttons so the buttons on: Ch1 are slicer - 7 variations in adv mode Ch2 are bmasher - 7 varations in adv mode Ch3 are abouncer - 7 variations in adv mode Ch4 are ttfx - 5 variations in adv mode (2 are backspins and 2 are that scratchy type sound and theknob lets u tweak that scratchy sound). I tried to build it so the efx parameters were generic (ie, the buttons dont select the traktor fx but rather just control parameters so u can choose any fx and the buttons will always give different parameters for ch4 adv efx para 1, 2, 3). So for stuff like bmasher, ull find that u could use all the channels buttons to get like 20+ parameters. Further, i made fx parameter buttons 1 and 2 seperate from the buttons so that u can get more variations if u have one or both of these buttons pressed. Since i got the db4, i found these are the only traktor fx i still love (echo freeze and delay t3 are cool too) so i mapped them all to db4 midi since i just wasnt using the midi functions much. If anybody is interested in the mapping or have cool fx combos they believe are button worthy, let me know. It pretty much will eat up all of ur midi shift buttons (and one or two nonshift buttons like the mic channel) I just need to fix a few things to make engaging or disengaging a single deck easier. By the way, xtreme mapping app is awesome.. My one big gripe is they dont oet u see the comments field in the grid view. If they did that itd be even better. But it really makes u realize how much traktors map interfce sucks. I really cant believe they havent done something about it yet.. It seems like such an easy fix that would be so appreciated.. | |

Dorothea Ketels 31.05.2012 | FYI, having comments in the grid view is easy: View > Show Table Columns > Comment ! Happy mapping! |
