Lashay Walchak 05.07.2012 | Find someone whom works for Best Buy or Geek Squad and get them to buy one for you. They're price is $175. |
Maxwell Zubke 05.07.2012 | What Best Buy discount might you be talking about, good sir? |
Lashay Walchak 03.07.2012 | It's VERY tricky. AutoHotKey is a script program that can record and mimmick mouse movement and clicks using keystrokes (Ctrl+Alt+1 for example). After you learn how to write the script you have to go through and assign keystrokes to all the commands you're trying to gain control over, which with the Remix Deck is about 20-25 per deck (16 sample slots, 4 pages, play, sync, trigger type, etc). Then you have to use Bome's to turn MIDI signals into keystrokes, much easier than above because it's fairly well automated, but still a bit tricky. I started and stopped very quickly because you just don't get a tactile feel from the pads/triggers. Even with the Remix Deck's Quantize disabled it still barely capable of 1/4 notes which defeats the purpose. For $250 ($175 with Best Buy discount FYI) I'd rather get the "pretty lights" and super responsive feedback and leave Maschine in native mode to make beats. I just picked up Mikro ($50 Craigslist hustle, broken encoder and partially broken LCD) and I am working on a supplemental mapping to my S2 to give additional control over regular features and have quick access to Clock, Preview Player, and a lot more. I'm in SW 'burbs. Gigging a few times a week, it's killing me 'cuz I have to cater to some tweens every now and again. Been in discussion(s) with a few places about setting up time slots and finding other DJ's to bring in. If you guys are mobile let me know. |
Xiomara Woolworth 03.07.2012 | im in lincoln park. the F1 is sick but the micro could be used as the ultimate production tool. believe about it, you could make your own loops in maschine then use the same device to mix them in tractor 2.5. is it hard to do or just time consuming? where you at in the city? |
Lashay Walchak 02.07.2012 | Yo Domingo! We should get up sometime! As for this Mikro controlling the Remix Decks I've figured out a way to make it happen using AutoHotKey and Bome's MIDI Translator. TBH it's not worth the time, I'm just going to buy a F1. Where you at in the Chi? |
