Traktor mapping question: modification page
Posted on: 12.07.2012 by Werner Bile
So I'm pretty new to doing my own mapping so I'm starting out with my Launchpad just trying to do something basic but useful. My question is this, I've only done the simplest of modification settings so far (a shift key). What I want to do is set the user 1 and user 2 buttons to toggle onto a separate page like it does in Ableton. How do i set up modifications that switch on and off, rather than having to hold the button down?

thanks in advance.

Would I then have three distinct pages, and a shift key that works on all three?

thanks in advance.
If this what you are trying to get?

You can make three pages with values 0,1,2. When switching off page/bank value go to 0 and it is still one of modifier states even when LED doesn't lite up. You can try to map any control to M2=0 also and it will correspond when we switch off any of two page buttons.

Button 1:
M2/direct/value 1
M2/direct/value 0 ; ModCon M2=1
LED controller range 1-1

Button 2:
M2/direct/value 2
M2/direct/value 0 ; ModCon M2=2
LED controller range 2-2

You can then use shift independently as you said or map two modifiers on same button with modifier conditions of both pages and get more shift options per single page

Hope it helped.

You can always try it out, it should work as toggle with that settings. If you are learning modifiers you should know that every modifier got eight values/states, so when making toggle modifier you can combine any two values from 0 to 7 if needed as well.

M1/direct/value 1
Modifier condition M1=2

M1/direct/value 2
Modifier condition M1=1

Modifier 3 | Global | Direct | (mapped to button "A") | M3=1

This should give your shift modifier a toggle type action
