Trying to map Denon HC-1000 browse encoder
Trying to map Denon HC-1000 browse encoder Posted on: 16.05.2013 by Wei Lebeaux So i'm trying to map the Denon hc-1000 browse encoder in Traktor so that it works like it does in Serato.I've used Modifier #8, with the "next" button on the Denon switching the value of M8 to 1. the "previous" button is mapped to M8=0. I've mapped both the "Tree select up/down" (with m8=0) and the "List select up/down" (m8=1) to the same encoder (the center one), . The modifier switches correctly (from 0 to 1 and back again) but the encoder will only browse the the Tree just fine, but never the list. Any ideas? | |
Wei Lebeaux 16.05.2013 | So i'm trying to map the Denon hc-1000 browse encoder in Traktor so that it works like it does in Serato. Kellie Myrum 24.05.2013 | Yeah, this is very odd... I don't know if 'Send Monitor State' command can help here but it's worth a try. Map it to your modifier button. |
Wei Lebeaux 24.05.2013 | I've mapped it for my X1 as well, without problems. The modifiers do change in the windows, and I originally had the encoder set to switch the modifier when it was pressed down, and it still didn't work. The modifier would change properly, but the knob would only scroll list. It's almost like the knob doesn't want to be subject to the modifier... |
Kellie Myrum 24.05.2013 | I've just re-mapped your TSI for my MM-1 and it works fine so I can confirm this is not a mapping error. Does your modifier #8 button toggle modifier values in little modifier window? Makes me believe that button doesn't send MIDI correctly... Try to re-map a modifier for any other button just to make sure. |
Wei Lebeaux 24.05.2013 | @Stewe: Tried changing the encoder mode. No luck. It still scrolls the list just fine, but it won't switch from list to tree no matter what I press... |
Kellie Myrum 24.05.2013 | Ok. The modifiers are assigned correctly. Try to switch encoder mode from 7fh to 3fh and increase the rotary sensitivity. |
Wei Lebeaux 23.05.2013 | Here ya go guys! Can't get it to scroll, or switch from "Browse Tree" to "Browse List." Any help would be appreciated. |
Kellie Myrum 18.05.2013 | Not unless I see your mapping. |
Wei Lebeaux 17.05.2013 | They're set correctly, but it just doesn't seem to work. I'll double check the relative mode.... Any other ideas? Anybody with an HC-1000 that could try this for me? |
Kellie Myrum 17.05.2013 | If both tree and list commands are set for correct modifier conditions you mentioned it should work just fine. Also make sure that both commands mapped to browse knob are in encoder-relative mode. |
