CDJ choice help
CDJ choice help Posted on: 29.11.2013 by Dominic Kokocinski Aloha,I am trying to figure out what cdj i should buy to compliment my current setup that i am building. At the moment I have a Kontrol Z2 mixer and thats pretty much it. I need a cdj recomendation one that doesnt require an actual cd is preferable. I am new to this so I'd appreciate a simple explanation of why I should get a particular cdj. Thanks! | |

The only advantage the 900s have is the HID capability, and if being used for software control I would almost certainly recommend them ahead of the 2900 for this reason. For all other applications though the 2900 is more than comparable to everything apart from the 2000 & 2000nexus. |

Alphonso Deitchman 24.12.2013 | Where exactly do you see me "hating" Denon? I'm only pointing out the differences between the players, which you seem to be well aware of yourself. Denon players are a great alternative to CDJ 850s and below for standalone use, but they are not a directly comparable to the 900 and above. HID integration is not limited to Traktor Pro (read - no Scratch necessary); it also works seamlessly with Serato, VDJ, and Cross - all with 0 setup process required. It's all plug-and-play on both Windows and OSX. |

I don't really need a nice full colour LCD screen, as I use it linked up with engine software on my laptop (too many songs to fit on a couple of USB drives!!). The iPad browsing of USB sticks is really cool though, if the decks could support a nice large hard drive with about 170gb of music on I would definitely ditch the laptop and just use an iPad to find and load songs!! |

Dominic Kokocinski 11.12.2013 | Well It doesnt matter if the cdj can use cdjs or not but it be nice if i could get both in one. I was looking at the cdj-2000 but thats really exspensive. |
Nereida Jasnoch 02.12.2013 | Get second hand CDJ-400s, then let them control traktor with HID. Smoothest experience for the least amount of money. |
Nikole Resende 01.12.2013 | And if you don't want to use actual CDs, why does it have to be a CDJ? If you absolutely want a CDJ, and one that doesn't require CDs, the Pioneer CDJ 350 is the cheapest model that hast USB/Rekordbox capability. |
