S4 Update problems
S4 Update problems Posted on: 16.11.2010 by Mac Fly I recieved my S4 yesterday from DJTT. I originally installed the S4 software then updated my Traktor Pro to 1.2.7 and the S4 software to 1.0.1.I plugged in my S4 to a USB port and opened the software. All I seen was the usb indicator was light up on the controller but none of the controls worked. It was my initial reaction to upload the correct tsi file but remembered that it was just supposed to be plug and play. My computer does say it has USB 2.0 ports, I could not figure out which port was which but tried all ports with the controller with no result. Then I decided to try a fresh uninstall and reinstall of the software. Now I try to update to 1.0.1 and it will only download to about 18% or so and not work and say an error occured...every time. This is extremely frustrating...I need some advice. O THE JOYS OF DIGITAL DJ'ING | |

Mac Fly 17.11.2010 | OK people I finally got it to work. I uninstalled service center, installed it again, then downloaded the software and updated to 1.0.1. I believe the problem was that I plugged the controller in before completely updated to 1.0.1. Thanks Karlos for suggesting reinstalling service center. Now the controller is up and running it has a really nice feel to it. Before I went to bed last evening the CPU meter was constantly in the red. I had game booster on and a stripped down user account. I noticed people say to uninstall the NVIDIA graphics card. Using traktor pro and my audiofire 2 the CPU is fine. My computer is a HP DV 6700. I am reluctant to uninstall the graphics card because I am not sure what can result. What graphics card should I use and how would I reinstall it? I would guess that my computer screen would just go blank after doing so? I will also have to use DPC Latency checker to see if the problem can be something else. |
Kathrin Salabarria 16.11.2010 | My S4 didn't work the first time I turned it on after updating the software to 1.0.1, try uninstalling the S4 software and installing it again, that worked for me. |
nayit ruiz jaramillo 16.11.2010 | What version of Traktor did you have before the 1.2.7 update????????? |
Carlee Pickard 16.11.2010 | I also hope you installed the software and did everything on the software side BEFORE you plugged in your S4. |
nayit ruiz jaramillo 16.11.2010 | Are you downloading from Service Centre..? If you login to the Support Site you can grab the installer from your Personal Download Manager. May want to grab the Service Centre installer as well and reinstall that as 99.9% of all Service Centre issues are solved by simple reinstalling it. |
Leeanna Ayla 16.11.2010 | Did you have the power plug in? Did you turn the controller on? There's a switch on the back. Maybe try to delete any previous downloads. |
