A kernel overload occurred, I called in their customer service - they couldn't help too much but they set me up with my Genius Bar about 10 minutes away from my house. I went over there, 45 minutes I walked out of there with a laptop that worked perfectly again. Take from it what you will. |

Tracy Speich 05.12.2010 | whether on a mac or pc, always have an external hard drive on hand. they are relatively cheap now a days. 500gigs for under a 100 bux. and like everyone has said already, back up ur shit!, on the external hard drive. electronics DO FAIL at some point, its inevitable, to believe any less is moronic. so regardless of what u get, mac or pc, get an external hd too. now back on topic, KRKs are awesome. i got 2 rp5s and a 8. love em for the crisp and accurate delivery. as for ur comp choice, my vote is a mac. right out the gate itll work. i have a pc too but if ur on a budget, get a used mac. i feel perfectly fine with buying a used mac and not having to worry so much about it crashing on me. can i say the same about a pc, no. its gotta be new with extended warranty and all... |
Janyce Jardon 05.12.2010 | Totally agree...even though macs are much more stable you should still do a backup every now and then... although macs have less tendancy to crash, therefore needing less backups... my mac has never crashed once but since i own a record label... id hate to lose all of the labels projects/sets/tracks/masters, so i still back everything up once a month... just in case... |

Janyce Henningson 05.12.2010 | Actually, you lost 200gb of stuff cos you didn't back it up. Even then you would've been able to recover the stuff from the hd. Mintaka I got a Windows machine and it runs S4 fine, but it's quite high spec. I've just bought a mac though cos I wanted a seperate dj laptop and if you can afford one get a mac. I got a 3 year old one from eBay for |

Ugh sorry for ranting, I basically lost 200gbs+ of info cause Microsofts Windows 7 shit told me to restart the computer after the upgrade, I did it, *boom* shit crashed. After 9 hours on the phone with customer service from Microsoft I ended up beign transferred to other people, and at the end I was talking to the first person I fucking talked to at the beginning of the call. Fuck that shit, and fuck Windows and Microsoft. Excuse the language, I feel kind of strongly on the subject (if you couldn't tell). I would vote Mac any day of the week. |
Janyce Jardon 05.12.2010 | whats stopping you from getting a mac, then loading windows on it... then youll have the best of both worlds... but trust me... once you start using mac... you never go back... |
