Which OS?

Which OS?

I'm believeing of a clean install of my operating system. I've just got the S4 and although it runs ok i really want it to be as stable as possible. My PC specs are:
dell inspiron 6400
Intel Core 2 Duo 1.66
2gb ram
80gb hard drive
so my question is, which windows version would you go with? Which has the least issues with the Traktor s4 software. XP, Vista or Windows 7?

Once you uninstall it run Service Center so it knows it's gone.

I know with traktor pro i have it installed on two different computers, on my laptop on 3 different os partitions. BTW i wouldn't bother with the Vmware, believe of that as adding another "wire" that could potentially break when communicating between your s4 and your system then back out.

I have decided to dual boot win7 and tinyxp and then maybe try running snow leopard in vmware. What i was wondering was how many installs of traktor s4 i have available? Do i need to deactivate my current install before wiping my hard drive? If so how do i do this? I have asked NI this question but there has been no reply

I recently reloaded win7 and tweaked it and it seems to be running fine. Though im also tempted to load xp on to see if its a bit more stable.

I am leaning towards win7 but what is tinyxp? Also does anyone have any experience with hackintosh?

I'd go with 7...google some basic audio tweaks and you should be good to go. My Win 7 machine runs great with my S4.

Hackinstosh is going to be a pain in the ass, Windows works great!

Edit: you may want to take a look at TinyXP for that machine also. I believe Win 7 will work great also but TinyXP is a very nice option.

I have considered it but wouldn't it probably cause more problems than a proper windows installation?
