Okay guys, I messed up... Komplete Audio 6
Okay guys, I messed up... Komplete Audio 6 Posted on: 07.02.2013 by Clementina Holdahl To cut a long story short I ordered"native instruments komplete audio 6" instead of: "native instruments traktor audio 6" from juno.co.uk Because it is obviously my fault I can't get it refunded. I'm new to mixing and have been using a USB controller, but recently got a pair of 1210s and a mixer is on the way (Behringer DJX 750). So what I want to know is: is there a way for me to connect my turn tables to the Komplete Audio 6 and mix tunes through timecodes in Traktor? tl;dr How/can I use turntables with Komplete Audio 6 Thanks a lot! | |

Marshall Aby 08.02.2013 | Yeah, DJing is pretty cheap these days simply 'cos the tunes are a lot cheaper. Well, at least it would be if we bought the same amount of tunes --- @OP - just noticed you're a UK consumer. Yeah, distance selling rules apply, you can change your mind for pretty much any reason within 7 days for a full refund |

Marshall Aby 08.02.2013 | If the OP paid for a legit copy, they'd have a TA6 now |
Doreen Schurle 08.02.2013 | MOD EDIT: Promoting Piracy is forbidden here, consider this your first and only warning regarding this |
Marshall Aby 08.02.2013 | Send it back. You'll want Traktor Scratch Pro, I assume. It comes with the TA6. It does not come with the K6. Hardware wise, your K6 isn't Scratch certified because it doesn't have any turntable pre-amps. You'd need a turntable preamp RIAA to line level converter for each deck. They're about |
Rosita Bourdeaux 08.02.2013 | ^What he said^ BTW If any of you are actually able to setup a timecode rig using a 3rd party audio interface with a LEGIT version of Traktor, please by all means make a video and spread the word. |
Kandra Fagler 08.02.2013 | the thing you are talking about uses a cracked version of traktor the legit version of traktor does not support any other audio interfaces for timecode, only the audio 4/6/8/10 and traktor scratch certified mixers the komplete audio 6 is NOT possible for timecode control (except if you maybe try to use other software like virtual dj) |
Alphonso Deitchman 08.02.2013 | I have my CDJ connected to the Line In of my computer and have chosen that as the input. Here's the screenshot of it not working: timecode1.jpg And now the identical setup routed through my NI Audio 4 DJ: timecode2.jpg If you're not a timecode user how can you be so sure what does and does not work for timecode? The Connectiv user already admitted to using a hacked version of Traktor. Not something you'd want to rely on live gigs surely? |

If you have the technical know-how to trick the software into believeing you have a different audio device connected then fair enough. Older versions of Traktor were less strict on this so it was much easier to get any sound card working (the thread linked is from 2009!). |

s.com/showthread.php?t=4544 The whole Traktor Scratch certification thing is just a scare tactic; any 4-input (or theoretically a 2-input in mono) solution will work, whether it's a proper 4 in / 4 out interface, or just the microphone input of your laptop and one of those crappy USB dongles. |
Alphonso Deitchman 08.02.2013 | Well you've already pointed out that the Komplete has no unbalanced line-ins which is reason enough. NI also blocks any non-certified sound cards from working with timecode, just like Serato does with their SL boxes. I haven't looked much into workaround methods but I would guess that Traktor checks the USB Hardware ID code (visible in Device Manager for Windows users) of the interface it is using to see if it's on the certified list. |

in order to do so is much more stupid as even with it all, you still can't use the interface. As long as the purchase wasn't made too long ago they should accept the return, get the Traktor A6 interface - not just "any in/out interface" - and it'll work fine. |
Doreen Schurle 08.02.2013 | You'd basically need a pair of phono to line converters, and a pair of balancers, and then take the output from those into the Komplete Audio 6. In short, it's a hell of a lot of work (and expensive) just to get it working; I'd take it back and get a different interface instead. Saying "it doesn't support timecode" is just stupid; it's an in/out interface, the hardware is irrelevent... timecode support comes from the software. |
Rosita Bourdeaux 07.02.2013 | Komplete Audio 6 Doesn't support Traktor timecode. Thats why everyone is suggesting the op should return it |
Amee Gralewski 07.02.2013 | Why are you saying it's not possible to plug the turn tables to the Komplete Audio 6, the Hardware it's practically the same, only big difference are Inputs and Outputs. I made the same "mistake" as you and nowadays I Dj with the Komplete Audio 6, although I don't use Turntables. I would suggest you look for the Inputs needed to plug your Turntables (sorry never ever used ones :P). Komplete Audio has 2 balanced line (1/4" TRS), you may have some trouble with not having phono inputs but there are some solutions for this. As for Outputs there is no problem, Komplete Audio 6 has Four balanced analog outputs, you just need a cable that goes from (1/4" TRS) to RCA. So you can go either way, trying to get the Traktor Audio 6 or solving the non phono Inputs on the Komplete Audio 6. So Good luck hope this helps. Tell us what did you do in the end. |
