Mic won't work with s4 anymore...
Mic won't work with s4 anymore... Posted on: 23.02.2012 by Adriene Snerling Hey guys just wondering if anyone can help me solve this issue? A few gigs ago i plugged my mic into my s4 and when i went to talk through it nothing came through. I turned my mic gain and mic volume all the way up. Nothing. I checked my input settings to see that nothing was connected, however when i go to click the drop down menu it only offers me channel c/d - left/right, for input options. And neither of these two work.... Not a big deal as i usually have an external mixer to plug my mic through but i like having the s4 act as a mic input for smaller gigs where all i have is the s4. Any help would be greatly appreciated! | |

Merry Piesik 15.03.2012 | Thanks man. I actually talked to NI yesterday and they weren't able to fix it. They had be do a disk repair and run some script and send them the results. Waiting on their response, but I'm really believeing it has to be the port. I'm planning on stopping by a Guitar Center with my laptop and the my mic and using it on the S4. If it works there I guess I"ll have to send my S4 off for repairs. That sucks thought b/c besides the mic it is working fine. I use an Odyssey flight case with mine and a Mogami cable. The cable fits VERY snugly in the back of the flight case so I'm wondering if over time it could have loosened the port. I'm not sure thought because I've plugged the mic in and wiggled it into different positions while speaking into the mic and it hasn't worked even slightly... |

Charline Dye 23.02.2012 | I would start at ticket with NI. Sounds like you have everything set up correctly. |
Adriene Snerling 23.02.2012 | With the Gain/Mic volume all the way up and my deck d set to live input ( as well as input deck d set to input left/right deck d) i still get nothing.... My mic used to work fine without even having to set a deck to live input and now i cant even get it to work with a deck set to live input. My mic works fine as ive tested it on a stand alone mixer... could it be my mic input on the s4? Theres been no damage to it at all tho... |
Charline Dye 23.02.2012 | My channel D is set like that and I change the deck d to live in the software to use fx on the mic. In preferences you also have to select the input for D. |
Adriene Snerling 23.02.2012 | In the back channel C is set to line, and channel D is set to line and usb |
Charline Dye 23.02.2012 | Is the switch on the back set to line? |
