Samples and Loops help?? Posted on: 09.05.2012 by Carie Powlison I have a lot of sample packs full of oneshots and loops. The only problem is when I want to use them in traktor I can't find them. Where can I import them from a folder to work in traktor. Also, Is there a way to cue the loops in my headphones while i'm browsing through them? Cheers! | |

Zack Armes 15.05.2012 | There are a couple of ways of doing it... you can sample it in the normal way or use the D deck to control them... I believe (he says writing this at work) that you can cue the samples separately on the D deck |
Carie Powlison 15.05.2012 | awesome thanks so much! |
Sylvia Greener 14.05.2012 | Of course it is. The crowd won't hear! |
Carie Powlison 14.05.2012 | and when it plays the sample is it played in cue mode? |
Zack Armes 13.05.2012 | If you are using S4 you can go into browse mode and listen to the sample much like you would a normal tune by pressing down the browse knob... I use my loop buttons to search through the files - no custom mapping - this is all out of the box |
Carie Powlison 12.05.2012 | oh sweet! that would be awesome |
Somer Vanstraten 13.05.2012 | Asap I'll be post a small tutorial for you, I'm not at home atm |
Carie Powlison 12.05.2012 | Can anyone link me to a mapping thread? I'm not much of a computer techy and the mapping settings just confuse me |
Somer Vanstraten 12.05.2012 | If you map it, is only a button for listening to the sample, and another click for stopping it so, simple. |
Carie Powlison 09.05.2012 | I thought there would be an easier way to preview the samples :/ |
Sylvia Greener 09.05.2012 | +1 @CionniAsDJ It also helps a lot to do some preparation work: Only import the samples which you believe you really need which doesn't meen 100s of kicks for example. Up to 5 kicks should suffice for one DJ set. Probably only one would work either. |
Somer Vanstraten 09.05.2012 | I made a playlist, called samples, with other subplaylist divided by genres for my samples (and every sample in the name as bmp note and type) You can cue them while browsing using the preview deck (you can also assigns a button of the keyboard or of a midi controller for load it in the preview deck and play, then stop and delete from preview deck) |
